I know this is really late, but having extra melee speed when using zenith doesn't technically make it faster, but it causes it to spew out the Zenith Projectile more because it's always the first projectile to spawn. It causes the 3 sword cycle to go faster, but it doesn't actually make the weapon faster. Which means, the swords aren't fired faster, but the cycle between them is. This means that less swords can appear, and Zenith to appear more often. (As stated before, this is because Zenith is always the first sword to appear.) On the contrary, a slower melee speed will cause more projectiles other than zenith to appear. If you can manage to get a high enough attack speed, you can possibly manage fot only Zenith to appear. Combine this with it's practically unlimited range, and you can do some crazy stuff.

Meanwhile in Summoner: Bad early summons that is somehow far worse than the slime staff (Finch Staff and Vampire Frog Staff). Only one early summon armor. Low defense. An endgame summon that is locked to a no-hit challenge. No extra mobility buffs. Whips can't be autoswing, unless you sacrifice a summoner accessory for a melee accessory (titan gloves and its variants). Good summoner armor (Old One's Army) gives only +sentries, which are useless to most boss fights, and is locked to a lot of farming. Most minions have small aggro range. Seriously.

Watching them hit the dummy with the video at .5 speed doesn't look like there is any noticeable difference in what each sword dose. Do see the copper sword a few times, plus all the swords you use to crafting the terra blade (do see the blood Butcher but not the Light's Bane). Edit: looks like the Arkhalis is also in the mess of swords but has a blue grip instead of red.

I tried with another program and it worked. I went on a local multiplayer server, one player on the edge of the map (player B, and the other on the other edge (player A). I think there's a limit for the screen resolution and I had to use a small map. The player (A) with the Zenith had to be a little further from the other edge of the map. I could hit the dummies, but it seems that the Zenith animation has a fixed distance (?). I tried with Daedalus Stormbow, and the arrows were visible on the dummies. There's also a desynchronization between the enemies that spawn for player B and player A. I could hit the enemies for the player B on the player A's screen, but the enemies on the player B's screen didn't die (or something like that, I tried it a few days ago). When I'll have some time to spare, I'll try to make a video and I'll let the link in the comments and I'll make a post on reddit on /r/Terraria.

As someone playing in a group where everyone is a different class, this literally broke the coop completely. Everyone can chill at base and fart around, and warrior can straight up solo everything. I really wish there was an equivalent weapon for each class. I mean, ffs, there are like 20 bows, why can't you craft some of the top tier bows into it's own zenith equivalent? Same with the other classes.

I think the reason they made melee player have the best weapons, is because melee is a class everyone starts as. On their first play through, they always go and get melee Armour and melee weapons. They do this because melee is the easiest class to understand. So maybe Re-Logic wants it to end the same way everyone starts as a melee player.

You need to kill moonlord AT LEAST twice to get the zenith, so what's the point, you have already completed the game and literally any other class can destroy everything alive too. It could be a problem if there was mods for 1.4, but that's not the case.

The very thing that can rival this type of weapon is Zero Protocol, a boss from the Ancients Awakened that is the second phase of Zero and has a damage cap and an anti-butcher ability that sends a red message in chat saying you cannot butcher it, the very weapon that can defeat it is the Broken Copper Shortsword Mod’s weapons, and the best boss for fighting against it is Oblivion’s Final Phase, which is yet to be released in the far away future of the Ancients Awakened Mod, since Infinity Zero (the third, and most likely finals of Zero) will be released BEFORE OBLIVION in v2.0, which is far away.

Summoner this patch is terrible. Can't snapshot minion stats anymore, got 2 new pre hardmode weapons which are complete garbage, still only 1 pre hardmode armour set, whips have no autoswing unless you sacrifice an accessory slot to use a melee accessory, no new post moonlord items or anything to compete with stardust cells/dragon. They nerf everything into the ground and then add this sword in. Then again, the devs obviously want people to play one specific way and anything else isn't what they want so they just nerf it.

Something that might help you test without monitors When you switch worlds without closing the game, until you move your mouse, it seems to keep your cursor where it was on the world map of the *previous* world. I noticed it when I was using the ruler effect of the grand design. You could go to one edge of a large world, set your spawn on the opposite side of the other world, load into the other world, then swing zenith without moving your mouse to test.

There is a tool called rtresolution that will allow terraria to scale to any resolution under 8192 x 8192. This is the tool i use to play terraria on my 2560 x 1080 ultrawide monitor without having forced zoom. You can in theory create a custom resolution on both of your monitors (2x the resolution and make windows see them as one monitor using dsr) in the nvidia display settings (if you have an nvidia card that is) and you can see the zenith’s massive range on full screen without having to do this window method.

Ive only played normal mode(just started Expert last night), so I prepped myself for Empress Of Light to get TerraPrism. I know she's got a lot of health, and 1 shots me. I get a little arena setup, kill the lacewing, and before I knew it she was dead. I was sort of disappointed. Zenith is so OP

An alternative is to go to the ocean, where once you reach the edge the camera will stop moving and you won't be in the middle of the screen, it doubles the range.

No, melee speed dosent effect the zenith at all expect visually. More melee speed=more swords are zenith. The extra damage was from the small crti chance increase.

@@stoopidapples1596 yes, he did say that, but I have watched another video that went to max attack speed buffs whit the zenith, and the attack speed didint chance at all. He did 42 dps on the dungeon guardian before and after applying buffs. The minor chance in the video was cause by the minor other buff cause by the attack speed gear he was using.

It would make sense melee speed wouldn't have much of an increase because of the "piercing weapon immunity" mechanic. Basically a weapon that can deal damage to multiple enemies or harm a single enemy multiple times an attack is hard capped at 6 instances of damage per second. The zenith likely reaches that cap or close to it without any speed boosts so any extra hits past that cap just simply don't register.

Although I didn't do anything extraordinary. I learned that this weapon can fight the pumpkin moon infinitely with no setup or potions (gotta have good defense of course, but you'll have Solar armor by the time you obtain the Zenith). Just make sure you kill the enemies from below so the hearts drop onto you. And that's enough sustain. No other sustain items necessary. I wonder if it works for Frost moon. Meaning post Moon Lord farming doesn't need any more setup than an arena.
