Fun fact about the point you made at 9:49: It is a feasible road trip to drive from Perth to Adelaide (and vice versa), but there's a stretch of 1000km of road where there is nothing nearby. If you wanna make the trip, you have to stock up, bring camping gear or a spare driver, and hope that you don't break down along the way...
@Oishionna2 ай бұрын
Having dr from Perth to Adelaide I will actually disagree with you. You do not need camping gear - although we had a combi campervan. As long as you stay on National Route 1, the main road across the Nullabor, you can find roadhouses with accommodation, food and petrol at regular distances along the highway. If you break down, like we did, you actually will not have to wait long until someone stops to help you. It is the main transportation connection between Perth and Adelaide after all. Now if you take any other route you need full off roaming capability and supplies and a hell of a lot of planning.

1:08 We are working on it though. There's been an up tick in high speed passenger train investment in the U.S. (Note : We do have a major railway network, it's just for cargo an goods since it's not always reliable to distribute on the road.) There's already been a passenger train line finished going from Miami to Orlando in Florida and there's another one being constructed going from Los Angeles, California to Las Vegas, Nevada which is a way longer trip and it will be much more harder and expensive. But it's a start. NYC is well known to have public transport as they're main way of getting around since it's extremely crowded. But other major cities like Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston mainly have cars which has lead to many traffic jams and very frustrated drivers. Sometimes it's even been deadly during bad weather. So I'm happy that we are getting more passenger trains being set up.

Then we add the poorer parts of Europe to get more countries. I am sure the German economy / capita is higher than most but still, the map is chosen to excaggerate the point. If anything is surprising, it would be the inclusion of Poland - large population and an economy that has grown a lot since they got rid of communism.
