I don’t know if they changed the rules or not but you still could have managed a partial win by building your safe house and giving up trying the bomb quest and managing to complete the other one. Also a helpful tip is to waste one of your actions to block Port Levesque so your other fighters can make it back to the safe house until you build the other one. The best spot for that being the western one.

With the Propogandist, you kept going to the black market to keep the path clear for your fighter to come back, but doesn't the shield icon on the propogandist mean that he doesn't need to return to the safe house that turn? And if he doesn't return, are there any consequences for that?

To answer my own question, from the rulebook: "If you cannot draw a clear route from the Worker to a Safe House, then the Worker is arrested. Remove it from the game permanently. If the Worker is arrested, you may only receive the rewards from that action if the Location has an orange shield with a star symbol. Otherwise, the Worker never makes it home and cannot bring the reward back." So the fighter is still arrested, regardless of the shield icon.

@@bobbyt2131 Exactly right! Still get the resources but lose the worker. I was hoping to constantly build a safe chain to leverage that propogandist house but the caught on to my plans! :-P

Great playthrough, although bummer it was so short. I have the app for this, and play it often, but a lot of the Patrol mechanics are hidden so their placement feels more random. I really enjoy the 'easy' level of puzzle solving, but anything harder than that is brutally short.

A huge part of the game is trying to predict where the patrols will go (app even allows you to check which cards are left in the draw pile).

Admittedly I wasn't aware of the app but this has some fun worker placement planning nuances as you "learn" the Patrol Deck

Should have just done Grocer->Spare Room on the right side (directly under the one you already built). You probably just didn't see that spare room as you picked the one further away :)
