my first fire ant experience was when I was living in a cheap rv, I was working south of vicks burg misisippi I had built a platform to put an air conditioner on the trailer had no water hookups,I was put on the night shift had no air conditioner, I removed a window and put the airconditioner through the hole , then built the plat form, as the air conditioner ran, it produced water in the form of condensate. the water ran down the support for the plat form, the fire ants followed the water trail up the support, then got in bed with me, I got bit and woke up really quick when I got bit, then wen into town, bought ant killerfound the nest and sprinkled the ant killer, which was a powder on the nest, since then when I work in the south I look around my lot find the nearest fire ants, but the same powder, sprinkle it on the nest, the sleep worry free.

@@sharongoodsell9341 my next lesson came a few weeks, later the campground was located at a place called grand gulf where there had been two confederate"forts, basically gun emplacements because I had been warned there were a few timber rattle snakes about, I wandered around for a bit in the woods then jumped up on a half rotted tree stump to have a better vantage point, some thing told me to look at my feet, the entirety of my feet was covered in a wriggling mass of reddish brown, I brushed my boots off and took perhaps the longest leap of my life, I was 51 when all this happened. I curtailed my hike and carefully made my way back to my camp site, I've stayed at that particular park and had it's not far from the grand gulf nuclear plant which I like I've had no further no run ins with the local fauna,

Next thing we knew she was screaming and so were we. She was covered with giant ants or termites we never really knew what as we've never seen anything like it. They were big black and they wanted her jelly. Of course she had it all over her hands and face because she'd been fighting the insects. Poor kid it took us pouring water on her to get them off, wiping her down crushing them doing everything we could of course dragging her off the log and swatting her all over the place getting them just it was a mess all I can say is it was horrible and if it hadn't been that there were more of us they're not just me and her but a bunch of us I don't know what would have happened. The one who found the men's bodies when after 4 days they did not return to the pick up spot three were dead at the the sight scattered about. He found one man still alive with his eyes eaten out he had crawled blinded almost 1/2 mile away he died in the helicopter. His one arm had big holes down to the bone where the ants chewed the flesh and muscle to eat. Both his ears were gone and almost 3/4 of his nose with a hole right down into the sinuses. And almost half his face was gone. The man found him laying on his side and could see the man's teeth and partly chewed tongue threw the big hole in the man's face where the cheek used to be. But on the bright side. This is all just a made up story because I just felt like making something up.😂

@@sigisoltau6073 Do you have a source of your information? I'd like to read it. I was taught what I stated from a university. But that doesn't always remove others insight.

@@sigisoltau6073 The holocene epoch, around 10,000 years ago is when man purportedly first appeared. There are 3 types of volcanic stages, active, dormant and extinct STOP RIGHT HERE. I was in college 12 years ago. I thought I'd take a quick look, on google here, at the time periods I was taught. I WAS TAUGHT WRONG! And the information suposively was from the USGS. Now, they are stating different information. Proves my point, always question what you are taught. Thank you for correcting me. I want my money back from Marshall University. Like I said ,my diploma and 5 bucks will get me a cup of coffee. Thanks again.
