Hello Wanderer, Could you comment on Mariners keeping in contact with the outside world when UW, such as family, paying bills, etc? Starlink costs $600 and $30 a month. Definitely a simple fix, but unsure if a ships Capt would be ok with you having one ore not (opsec)?

Actually the Federalist Society has had the most influence on SCOTUS picks and they aren't really conservative. Alito and Thomas are conservative but their doctrine as justices is not politically ideological, but known as "originalist" which means they interpret the Constitution as the founders wrote and intended. The 3 progressives are in fact politically ideological and pretty much hate the Constitution and the founding fathers. They are activists. The other 4 are establishment Republicans and all over the map. Their votes and opinions will be wildly unpredictable. Roberts in particular is more concerned with his legacy and being liked by the media and biased liberal historians. Thus he often votes with the 3 progressives. I have NEVER met anyone in or affiliated or even interested in Q-Anon nor Project 2025. The only time I ever hear those two terms is hyperbolic fear mongering on NPR, CNN, and MSNBC as well as radical and extreme left wing KZbin channels. I recently listened to 2 ladies on a YT channel discuss Project 2025. They were both lunatics. One of them read what she said are the 4 main objectives/positions of Project 2025 and there was nothing radical, racist, white supremacist, Christian Nationalist, etc etc etc about any of it. I was like, what? This is what they think is radical and a threat to democracy? These people are insane. Everything she read would not have been even remotely radical or divisive 15 or 20 years ago. These people are literally crazy and they are almost exclusively white women typically single college educated between 24 and 44. They drink the kool aid on every far left extreme idea and think The View, NPR, CNN, MSNBC, The NY Times, etc. purveyors of truth and wisdom. Matt Taibbi had an excellent Twitter post several weeks back where he explained in detail how the Republicans are not a threat to democracy, but the democrats and the left are and again he explained it in detail. And he is a lifelong democrat and used to be quite far to the left. He was the political reporter for years for Rolling Stone, the most coveted left wing political job in journalism, created and made famous by Hunter S. Thompson.
