I raised my little children with these Maranatha songs. These many years later, I'm returning to them for their simplicity allows me to connect with the Spirit instead of trying to follow the complicated melodies of today. They're also a wonderful way to memorize Scripture. It's good to be home again.

This is my home church, Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa Calf. These songs came out of the Jesus Movement and still have that very special anointing today as they did back when they were introduced. Timeless classics

These songs have a real special meaning to me.😍I was raised up in the Lord in a Baptist Church. I had a great Sunday school teacher in Tennessee who gave me a red lettered King James Version of the Bible that had the the golden edging on the thin pages when I was 14 years old. I still have it with me @ 73 years of age. We (My Bible; the Lord; and I) have traveled a lot of places and been through a lot good and some extremely hard adventures. I travel to California when I was 19 in the USMC. My dad was an aviation gunner in the USMC in WWII and my uncle was in the USMC during the Korean War. I was in during the Vietnam period. I never moved back to the green grasses and Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. I moved all over California and drifted away from my true love (*The Lord). All through my life the Lord saved me from physical death so many times I could write a book about it... but in 1985 He decided I had "had it my way" long enough. By that time in life I had been married and divorced and was a single parent law enforcement officer with a young teen aged son. Now I was still trailblazing through life, but with my son in tow and still not back close to the Lord. I had just gotten my CDFG Patrol Lieutenant's position and was assigned to a desert position in SO. California. The Lord took me the desert to save me and my son..The Lord had someone, who I had gotten close to, ask me," who was I serving Satan(our default setting) or God (who we have to chose)? They asked me if I am saying "I am a Christian", when was the last time I opened a Bible? They asked me why did I believe that Jesus Christ was my SAVIOR if I thought all people that tried to be good would go to heaven? And why I thought God was a mass of energy that we would become one with when we died? Those questions pierced my heart and the Holy Spirit revealed His Presence to me when I was crying that I did not want to be a servant of Satan by default, because I had not chosen the One who died and rose for me. My life was changed forever by that single revelation& even more thereafter. It changed my son's life too and he accepted the Lord too. I went to Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa when I moved back to the coast & listened to Chuck Smith & loved the music that came out of that church. I have lived in the Northern Ca mountains now for over 33 years but will always have a place in my heart for the beauty and peace I felt in the desert.

I know some of these songs of the Maranatha singers as they have been shared on youtube over the past few years. Brought up in the Church of England, which has lovely hymns more conventional but lovely too. The words I always looked to along with the music written to them. The psalms are a great point in this. I find scripture comes alive when you sing the psalms. You remember them too, word for word, like you would your favourite song. The last few years of the Covid period, has been a blessing for me, for God used the time to pull me in line, no turning from right nor left, but straight ahead, marching on in the centre of the narrow way. Even with troubles I have had, God has given me joy within my soul. Hallelujah. Amen

I will never forget Maranatha for God using them for me, my twins sis, our your sister through our eldest sister who played them in the 90s every morning. And they stick to our hearts and souls and have influenced our worship and commitment to God even in our service to God in the choir - Living Souls Baptist Church where we served the Lord for about 19 years and still help us in worship greatly. Like everyone here I too grew up with these songs. The Lord visited me with his gospel through Blessed friends in high school and these were the songs that I learned. Thank you Jesus thank you heavenly father for the Holy Spirit Inspired these songs. These are truly anointed songs.

Im reading all the comments , Werent we BLESSED to be a part of the revival , that came out of the Jesus Movement ,in the 60s . 🙏PTL🙏We had been playing Maranatha Songs during our Miracle time program year 70’s to 80’s aNd 90’s. I like your songs Maramatha!. The song Don’t you know it’s time to Praise the LORD IN it’s first when it came out as i was to sing before the message will be preach but the enemy hid it somewhere my minus one tape somewhere and I prayed hard and it just came to the open few minutes before my rime. There will be one flock and one Sheppard in God's Kingdom made of all the tribes and races of the world. There will not be Jews and gentiles anymore. Saturday-Sabbath is my way of refreshing and having a rest just as scripture says.

Thank God for answering my heart desires. This compilation was one of the very few christian music recorded on audio tape I had and was feeding on but moving around during different relocation I lost it and because it had no label I couldn't get it to buy since 1994. I just bumped into it now while scrolling through KZbin scripture songs to take a nap after a session with the Lord. Quite nostalgic & refreshing......
