Hi Oleg I have a question for you: I have used my Marantz 2230 for years now playing Vinyl exclusively. Recently I aquired a Denon DCD 1500 CD player and wanted to hook up the cd player to my Marantz receiver using Red and black RCA cables. I used the Tape in inputs on the marantz and the "fixed"output on my cd player. I get no sound whatsoever. I tried some different inputs, plugged it into the AUX input on my receiver, changed from Fixed to variable outputs on the cd player, but nothing....Am I doing something wrong? Apologies for the noob question

Are you sure your Denon CD player is working correctly? Have you tested it with any other amp? You should connect an RCA cable between the output jacks of the player and the AUX input of your Marantz receiver and get the sound. Unless you have a very dirty selector switch or your CD player is having problems.

@@OlegVintageAudio I have no other amps unfortunately. The vintage denon cd player has the 2 outputs at the back "fixed" and "variable" so I tried both with the other end plugged into the Aux inputs on the amp. I also tried the tape in inputs on the amp, but neither produces any sound. The cd player switches on, reads the cd, plays when I press play, but no sound. I contacted the seller and was assured it was thoroughly tested before the sale. He even sent a video of the testing process.
