Just ordered mine! $1799 on amazon right now. I know there’s the newer Cinema 30 but this has all the features i need (i hope!) and such good value now. Upgrading from Yamaha 2060BL, which i love, but it just didn’t have enough powered channels or pre-outs in the end.

@@GramophoneMD Just managed to get a used Rotel 1095 amp in great condition, for a fantastic price, taking some of the load off of all the amps in the Marantz and enabling the 13 channels (need 2 more speakers still), and the Rotel has definitely helped drive all those speakers.

Thank you. I have this exact unit, and I was wondering if it would be able to drive powerh7ngry speakers such as the B&W 702 S2?

Hello Babymaker, yep - as cool as our hobby is, the great new products can entice us to upgrade, so it's a little bit addictive. Reach out to us at ask@Gramophone.com and we'll see if we can work something out

Nice presentation. The only thing I didn´t understand is the 7.2.4 specification. Looking at the back I do see dedicated 2 Front, 2 Surround, 2 B Surround, Center, H1, H2, AND H3. So it looks more like a dedicated 7.2.6 to me. Pls let me know if I am mistaken. Thanx - keep on coming the good stuff.

It can process 13 channels, but only has 11 amplifiers. So, you can add a 2 channel amp and use 13 channels with this AVR.

Yes, this is the one Marantz receiver model I actually recommend for tougher loads like that.

Tough call. So very similar. At that level I start to have trouble telling the nuances apart. Those disappear even further once you run Audyssey and get them dialed in. But if you stepped up to the AVR-A110, that is undoubtably the best until you go to higher end separates.
@Darkmanmr473 жыл бұрын
@@GramophoneMD Actually going by other Trusted sources in Germany, the 8500 sounds more Denon-like and the SR8015 more Marantz-like ( Bombastic control Denon vs Detailed musicality for Marantz ) to each their own we would have to say. The AVC-A110 has been described of a less characteristic Denon sound signature and more Marantz-like, sounds more like the AVP pre-End Combo but with less power obviously) So the conclusion was that if you can make due with 11 Channels amplification ( you still get 13 processing ) you could go the SR8015 route and if you need 13 you can go for the A-110. ) The coolness factor of having a limited edition version of the Denon speaks for itself I Guess. As Pre-amps they will both act on the same high level. HDMI Devices using the 2.1 spec like Next Gen Game consoles and Graphics cards were not yet out when the first Batch of 2020 AVR's came out and they were built with a Panasonic Chip which exptected the RFL link to be either compressed or uncompressed ( I forget which) since the PS5 used less bandwidth the Chip can handle 4k/120 on it without issues, but 4k/120+HDR like on Xbox Series X and Graphics cards would be too much and you would get a black screen. Sound United developed the SPK-618 for this that could be ordered free of charge and which would get rid of this issue. The newer 3port HDMI 2.1 switches VS3003 for Marantz and AVS-3 for Denon ( same device, different branding) can be used instead of the SPK-618 so will solve the issue for the "issue chip AVR's" and at the same time expand the 1 HDMI 2.1 port to 3 HDMI 2.1 ports. for the non-issue chip-AVRs it will only expand to 3 ports as there was no issue to solve in the first place. However some devices with the 70000 and above SR will have the "fixed" Hdmi Chip, but will also have some different DAC's in some cases due to the Parts shortages and those are rumored to measure worse than the original AKM's. If it is audible ? Unsure...

It's so bad that Marantz has not re-designed the receiver's look like Yamaha Advantage has. They still have that small pothole and that flip down cover, info it's hard to see ,and to top it all they increased prices for their unit. I have their 6400 ,and their 7007 receiver looks like I am going to buy the new Yamaha with the new modern look and better pricing.
@GramophoneMD2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't discount the SR8015 based just in look, it is best sounding receiver you can get right now outside of spending $6000 to $7000 on an AudioControl. For cheaper models the differences from brand to brand are less pronounced however.
