Operative knowledge of local language is very important, but it is equally important to know the landscape of the city to be a taxi driver. Most often I have to direct the driver to my destination and I wonder what would happen to those tourists who come visiting. Third, drivers have to be trained to be courteous. Taxi drivers and BEST drivers/ conductors in Mumbai are notorious for their arrogance. I never could understand why passengers are asked to keep exact change ready for payment.Is that not the service providers' lookout? We Indians don't even understand these things. In India arrogance is a sign of manhood and polite behaviour is considered feminine. And we Indians also have pretensions of joining the first world. This is a very good video to show the mirror on our society.
