A warm hug and best wishes for David from Puerto Rico. Although we all know the disaster that hurricane Maria meant for our island I chose to highlight the good things that it left behind, all the lessons learned and all the ppl that gave us a hand when we needed the most. Among them David Begnaud reporting what was going on which helped inform those outside the island but also locally since there were some areas that remained incomunicated for months so thank you very much David. We love you down here buddy.

What an incredible woman.105 years old, amazing. She's got all her facilities. She's got a great sense of humor. She's taking good care of herself by going jogging. Once you stop, your body stops and you age quickly. She doesn't look her age. Especially for 105. I was rooting you on Rosemary, you were fantastic. Congratulations dear, sweet, beautiful, Rosemary. Somehow this was on my TV this morning in a queue from KZbin and I am 43 min into it and can't stop crying 😂 but in the best way, so I can truly say that I am grateful to be alive and am sharing this with my daughter who celebrated her 22nd birthday yesterday, a lil a month after making me a proud Grandma for the 3rd time. I am happy and grateful to make mistakes so that my daughter can learn and not make the same, and always makes me proud to see her as a Mother herself. Thank you CBS and weird algorithmic synchronicity for bringing this to me today.

It saddens me that there’s still discrimination towards so many😢What a surprise to see Dr. Jill Biden❤in this video sharing compassion like she’s always done! Hats off to you Mr. Markelle Taylor 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼So as we approach this new Presidential election, remember this Nation is filled with many more genuinely good and decent people. 0:29 GOD bless her..I cant even walk,& shes got me by 55 yesrs ♡. I was in ICU nurse 23 years, thru Covid, til I couldnt( cant) walk anymore. Iwas often told I spent too much time in my patient's rooms and I was too nice to them...dont wash their hair, give the family coffee or a hot blanket, Dont be 'too' nice Danielle.. I realized one day,as I looked into my crashing pts eyes,& promised him hed b3 ok& was calling his wife from my cell phone so he cld say she loved him.I told him he was going to be okay we were going to put him to sleep for a little while and put the breathing tube down his throat but that she would be here soon and I wouldn't leave him until she got there. He shook his head, he mailed the word thank you to me I held the phone to his ear, and let the wife speak. The three of us knew that I was lying, and that Id be the last face he saw. 5 minutes later we had 30 people in the room cracking open his chest putting in ECMO, putting in tubes putting him on a ventilator squeezing in to 3 units of blood at a time.. I was there for 16 hours that day at the end of the day a doctor came up to me and she said thank you, for staying with him.do they teach empathy and kindness in nursing school anymore? You always treat ur pts like they are YOUR family ." So I replied," they are ALL someones mom, son, friend, grampa,& they COULD be ours.." At my review,I got " the pt whisperer " award.. I also got told NOT TO be 'too nice' because it raises the bar for co workers who arent there to fo 'that stuff'. I knew my days were numbered...Covid was a scary ,lonely time,as patients were ALONE for weeks, months, with only the nurses.Id facetime family, while pt went to Heaven,& Id hold tneir hand and put on their fav music . Others woukd sut out on hall, on their phones, watch the monitos go asystole, then,go in their pts room. I am in no way I'm applying I'm a better nurse, a better person or any such thing I just don't have it in me to not help I am an empath and it is a blessing and a curse the moral of the story is in today's society we walk a very fine line because people confuse kindness for weakness I'd like to tell the secret santa he has the best job in the world and I wish I could be his permanent elf I have not worked in 2 years I lost my car losing my home and I lost my husband and my father on the same day on October 11th currently in a wheelchair and honestly don't know what I'm going to do with my two teenage girls and myself and my widowed mother who becomes a widow the same day as their mom? So we now grocery shop at the Dollar Tree and on the way out I gave two of our Gatorades to the homeless man baking in the Florida Sun. My kids just looked at me and took them out of the bag and handed them to me they didn't even ask or hesitate one kindness has been given to you, it's always clawing its way out of you please remember that you never know what someone is going through. In 2 tears I went from wife,RN, mom, homeowner,2 cars in driveway, kids in dports..blah blah.. to NOTHING .IT HAPPENS.DONT walk past homeless as if they are less than..for all you know,They may have saved YOUR life in past.or may be your DR,ur teacher, ur son in law in the future. one small act of kindness can change a life forever.A small go fund me has fed us fir past 2 months,& I am forever grateful. Thanks for letting me ramble❤...Secret Santa- as soon as this'elf' can walk again- Id love to ride in ur dleigh & help it snow❄️$$ ..❤🙏🏻. @stevehartnan @cbs #cbseveningnews #stevehartman #BeKindorBeQuiet
