Very eye-opening approach to training. Keep pushing. As a runner and fellow KZbinr I know how much goes into these videos! Keep posting... I just subscribed!

Great video, is it possible you can send me the excel file sample of the lactate curve ?

Superb. I'm planning on running my first ever marathon and could you recommend which blood tests to take before? I'm great believer in science!

Hi, great video. Where can I get the excel sheet from, please?

Hey Will, was wondering where you got your lactate meter from and also what one you would recommend. Also from NZ and looking to start implementing threshold sessions into my training. Cheers

I got it through Kerry at lactate.co.nz. Might worth seeing if you can get a Lactate Plus meter. They're a bit easier to handle.

@@drwilloconnor Any Website or local suppliers you would recommend getting one from. Difficult to find someone selling them

Sorry mate, missed this one. No, I think you'd have to use NZ post YouShop and get it shipped from UK or US.

I can’t find a site to buy one. Any assistance would be appreciated

Maybe try a “Lactate Plus” meter instead of the pro 2

From this test round you would put your LT1 at 4 min/km? I am looking in starting to use lactate testing for coaching but I am not sure how much demand there would be from clients. Thank you

There are lots of definitions in lt1. Some say it's the point where lactate is bigger than 2.

Just bought lactate pro 2 but tested today and the results were a bit random. Before start running justa had a 14mmol measuremente... then it goes from 2 to 3.5 and then get back to 1.0... already check procedures but doesn't get any better. Thinking about return it 😕

That is a bit odd. The only thing I can think is that you're getting sweat in the capillary. Make sure you wipe your finger or earlobe with a cotton or alcohol swab before lancing and wipe away the first couple drops of blood.

Where did you get your lactate meter? Nice video!
@drwilloconnor2 жыл бұрын
I got it from a local supplier in NZ. I'd suggest a lactate plus over the pro 2, though.

May I ask why?
@dazamad3 жыл бұрын
Can i ask did you setup pace alerts on your watch to keep within 4minkm 3.5minkm etc on each 1200m rep or are you able to judge pace pretty well. Thanks. I have a meter also just getting used to it.

Why not use HR as reference point instead of speed?
@calebf3655 Жыл бұрын
A lactate meter is more accurate. Different people have different heart rates for their lactate threshold. That being said, if you can't afford a lactate meter or don't want to buy one, heart rate is a good alternative
@drwilloconnor Жыл бұрын
With speed (or power). I can control my output from start to finish. Using HR as a reference, I'd be unsure what my output was for the first 2-3min since there is a oxygen (O2) slow component.

What meter did you use?
@drwilloconnor2 жыл бұрын
Lactate Pro 2. I'd recommend Lactate Plus if you can get it.
