I've been watching people try to explain music for years on youtube. As a non-musically-educated guitar hack...they always lose me part way through the video. They don't explain things in a way everyone can get something out of. This guy solves that problem. He gets detailed, but explains "why" as much as "how". That makes all the difference. At least it does for me. edit; by the way...I never knew what it meant technically, to play 'outside', but I knew it when I heard it. I just didn't know what it was.

Great lesson man! Many of us need to learn how to play inside and stop shoving half whole dim into everything we can…please! I notice some people like you, Pat Methemey, Wayne Kramtz can make nonsense work because you resolve and you have your rhythm together. If it’s rhythmically happening it seems to work. But when I’m practicing quaternary notes at 40 bpm out sounds really out. I need to get this stuff and my rhythm together.

Sir! Another great video but there could be five follow-up videos to this one explaining each concept in detail. I think I’m like most people in the comments where we have a number of years under our belts, but now looking to expand into more jazzy, outside sounds. The ones who totally understand all the theory etc, are probably not the majority watching. The theory and musical notation is over my head, but I can totally dig the sound of each. I have started with outside playing and found your superimposition video the best I’ve seen in a while. Are you planning on making individual videos for the other concepts? Because if they’re like your superimposition one, it would be totally helpful. You are a killer player and very entertaining. I love videos that feature examples of what we’re going to learn at the beginning to set up the tone of the lesson and then show how to go from the ‘inside’ playing to ‘outside’ and then back to inside playing with tabs available. You are one of the best I’ve seen on KZbin my friend. Your videos are getting better and better. Thank you 🙏

I see everybody praising the production of this video. In my opinion, this is quite possibly the worst guitar video I've ever watched. The information is sound but the execution is horrible. If you need a meme or a joke every second perhaps you don't have the attention span to play guitar. Steaming shit sandwiches. His giant face in the camera over and over again. To me this type of thing doesn't drive the video forward towards its goal at all. Now before you go and get all mad just let a person think differently than you.
