If you ever get to Arkansas again you need to go to jasper it’s south of harrison and look at the Arkansas Grand Canyon you’d love it. And you need to come to mountain home. Lots of pretty places around here.

My great grandfather was a Bottoms, basically moved there and established it as a town around 1850. Still have a really old cemetery that is composed of my family there.

Excellent video. Thank you for sharing. We are leaving California this month..looking for a house in the ozark area. This was helpful to us here. Wouldn't it be nice to have a little home on a few acres with some.cows? Just beautiful. Thanks again..

Back before your grandparents were born (at a guess from your intro video) Marble was blown off the map by a tornado. It's been rebuilt a couple of times since then that I know of. Never was much of a town, just a couple of stores and some gas. That highway 412 you were driving on used to be known as highway 68, back in the 60s, when I used to commute on it heading to Huntsville.

You were in the general area where the block of marble used in the construction of the Washington monument came from. That represented the state of Arkansas.

That wasn't a drive way it is a road it goes back to 412. I heard they trashed out Theresa's old store and man did they. I did love living out there the Kings River just across 412 but you don't want to get out on people's property the farmers are a bit hateful it's their property and they do not share access to the river.

Lots of ticks, no bed bugs roaches or iguanas. You were not close to the backroads of northwest Arkansas. I could take you to places that would scare the hell out of you. Come back and see us real soon.

when I moved down here in 1993 that’s how I acted. Now I just marvel at the sunsets and the changing of the seasons. Just a great place.

I’m cracking up at how y’all are being so sketchy stopping and talking to cows. I was just up through that area and grew up in northwest Arkansas. No lie, if you did pull in someone’s driveway to stop and talk to their cows, they’d run you off.

Naw ~ ive never apent a whole lot of time in Arkansas, but most of that time was outdoors or in lodges- shouldn't be any iguanas unless foreigners bringing them in.. We even have scorpions in the south east of Mississipi River in southeast, but when i was a small child visiting Arkansas i saw scorpions, and cacti in many places...thought i was in the wild west..but both the cactus and scorpions was tiny

Theres nothing more disrespectful than being from Arkansas. We don’t have moral police where we live so go ahead and talk that hillbilly inbred crap to someone else
