Marble Arms Tang sight for Rossi 357.Part One,Base only.

Do you own a Rossi ?Not sure which sight to put on ?This video may help you decide.I have bought and fitted an "improved" Marbles Tang sight Base only,i will update as i go.So whats good about the improved sight,well its the ability to swap the sight arms out easily,you can have one arm for short distance and one for long and just swap out as required----or remove altogether for storage,transport.

I bought the Lyman for my 92 Rossi didn't work worth a shit until i made an aluminum base for it that matched the tang contour.

good video. i was going to put a tang sight on mine until i noticed that mine is not pre drilled. it only has the screw holding the stock on. i am not quite willing to drill my own.

It can be done quite easily, there is room for some error of measurement lengthwise thats why the base has one hole and a slot but you do have to be central, if you were to attempt it remove your butt stock, carefully place upper tang into a vice so its horizontal, mark the hole and centre of slot, use a centre punch and then a small diameter drill for pilot hole then the correct size drill and then tap the hole, job done, cheers.

I've enjoyed your series on the tang sight. Did you consider the Lyman receiver mounted peep sight? Does the Rossi have pre drilled holes for the Lyman? Thanks for your videos.

Thanks for that,i did look at a lot of sights but it came down to windage and elevation adjustment and being able to swap out the different posts for different distances as opposed to re-sighting each time you go to a different distance,i did look at receiver mounted peep sights,there is one that fits where the safety is on the new model Rossis but write ups weren't good and wanted one nearer my eye,the tang on the Rossi i bought was pre drilled and the Marble arms sight just dropped straight in,not sure if a Lyman sight would,cheers.

I would research your sights well i settled for the Marble arms one and I do like it, thats not to say its the best one out there, cheers again.

Your videos were and are an immense help when I first got my 92. You keep saying Rossi supplied screws. Rossi does not supply extra screws on any of their rifles. Unless you mean Marble is supplying them with tang sight. Could you explain? What screws do I need for this base? Rear and front screw. Thank you

Sorry,yes your right, the longer tang screw came with the bases meant to say supplied by Marble arms not Rossi,but as I do say, they don't supply the shorter front one which is a mystery, the rifle does come pre drilled and the Marble arms sight fits without any adjustment and all you need to do is find the shorter front screw, cant remember thread size but was a standard screw, sorry for the confusion, cheers.

Thank you sir. Are the upper parts with aperture standard? Yes that front screw is tiny. I thought I heard you say it was a 10/32

Hello again, that 10/32 rings a bell so if thats what I say in the vid then that will be it-------honest :}--------by upper parts I think you mean the Arm ? all the parts on the sight, the base, the arm and the aperture are all standard Marble arms, you have a choice with the improved sight of 3 different height arms to choose from or buy all 3 ! The reasoning is that you could set all 3 arms at 3 different distances to make it easy to change shooting distance, you just swap the Arms out for whichever distance you have set them at and want to shoot at.I just bought the standard height (middle size one) and I can adjust down to 25 yds and out to 100 with the one arm,i rarely shoot at 100 with it but if I did it on a regular basis I would buy the longer arm and set that one for 100yds,cheers.
