While they were talking about how Jess walked by, I started to think about how isolated MH feels. Maybe that's part of why it's still unnerving to me. It's just so barren and living in a world like that is just kinda scary to think about.

That was definitely why this series resonated with me when I discovered it right after finishing school… apart from being unnerving and creepy it really captures a profound sense of loneliness… which is what I was feeling when all my college friends and I had gone our separate ways and were all struggling with figuring out adulthood.

I didn't really think about this aspect in particular till you pointed it out, but honestly? YEAH. Properly thinking about it, all the Marble Hornets characters are practically living in a different world from those around them. They're caught up in something that has isolated them from every person who isn't involved, out of both distrust and simply an inability to talk about it with other people, due to all the supernatural goings-on and generally fucked up-edness of it all. They only have each other--all of which have tried to harm or kill the others on at least one occasion--and this horrifying eldritch entity that's driving them all mad. They are very alone in this, almost entirely detached from society in a way. It's really disturbing and sad :(

In the beginning when "jay" puts the chest cam down he looks so offended EDIT:also tim is a literal comedic god in the beginning like Joseph and troy are talking about something and then tim just chimes in with the most hilarious thing like "K E Y"
