Amazing rendition! The song was written by Kate Bush for a specific scene in a movie called "She's having a Baby". The scene is where the father is waiting for his wife to give birth and then there are complications with the baby's birth endangering both the mother and child's lives. The father sits in the waiting room while the song plays remembering the fun times they spent together and how much he took his marriage for granted. It chokes me up because I feel I did the same thing with my beautiful wife and family when I was younger. The hard part to hear is the line: "Give me these moments back." Make those happy memories today because we don't get a do over in life.

Most of those 1978 songs were written between the ages of 13 and 15....and some recorded at 16 years of age. She wrote, recorded and produced this song in 1988 for the film starring Kevin Bacon "She's Having A Baby" and sings it from the man's perspective (as the film demands). That's why it's suited to a male voice. Taking nothing away from Kate. She can switch from angelic to being downright scary in a heartbeat.

But Kate's unique angelic voice made the song more emotional in the movie. I don't think Maxwell's version would have had the same effect in the movie's context. Her voice just evoked the pain of regret so profoundly.
