I remember when I used to see Marc in the late 80s and 90s, I could not stand him. Something about him just grated against me. I don't know if he changed or I did but I just have so much more respect for him and find him so compelling now. I'm glad he found his groove.

Yes, he was a drug addict and extremely angry & self-loathing. Not a fun comic to watch. He burned a lot of bridges with his behavior. He mellowed a whole lot more and the podcast has enabled him to talk to people who otherwise wouldn't give him the time of day anymore which provided him with an opportunity to apologize for his behavior. He's certainly an interesting guy who's lived a crazy life and he is talented in many areas. Now that he's approachable and loose, he's a good conversationalist who's sincerely interested in others instead of a narcissist.
