Fascinating! I had a jeweller tell me that marcasite stones are “mined, like diamonds” 💎 Now I kind of see what she meant. I love my marcasite jewelry!

10 years ago i was gold dredging in Nome, AK. Underwater moving rocks and such and my attention was drawn to the weight of the little round rock i tossed out of way. I thought that lil bastard was heavy. Found it and kept it. Came across it few days ago and wanted to see what it was. 3 days later dozens of videos , im satisfied with the Marcasite. I even polished 2 sides. Reflective metallic silvery mirror.. Thanks. Big help Clad I kept it along with pound of rough garentts. Intetesting to see it pulled out of rock. I was 15 ft under water bearing sea. Not deep but cold

@@mobiusII Ill just say i found it in the UK in the jurassic coast. Everytime i go fossil hunting i always find 1 bit of marcasite, or a trilobite (common there) or bits of ammonites

What do you use to clean them? I've been finding clusters like yours in ohio
@mobiusII3 жыл бұрын
The best method I've found is to soak the nodules in vinegar, I use white vinegar. If you let them soak for 2 or 3 days they will dissolve all of the limestone out of all the little crevices on the surface. It doesn't seem to affect the surface of the mineral at all.

Very interesting....thank you, but I couldn’t help but notice how irritated your fingers and nails look. Please see a dermatologist that can help your condition. Take care....

Guess you have never mined or played in the dirt. Btw this was a rude comment.
