Hi John! Here is a translation (though NOT perfect but I would say nearly precise) of the video from Marcelito. =>Marcelito did not say Simon Team but he said Music Team. According to Marcelito the AGT Music Team has been instructed by Simon to choose a different song that is NOT something theatrical. The AGT Music Team has to do research about what would fit Marcelito that does NOT anymore sound like theatrical. But, Marcelito said Simon will still be the one to choose among the songs to presented by the AGT Music Team. A song has already been chosen and had been inform to Marcelito. Then, he (Marcelito) said that he knows the song but for him it is NOT really a song for a competition like this. He said the chosen song has a normal (maybe he meant ordinary) tone that doesn't really have high notes in it. So, he is telling the viewers in his video especially his supporters NOT to be disappointed or lose hope about winning the contest. He promised that he will do his very best to give justice to the chosen song. And then, he also said whatever the outcome of the competition he is so thankful to God and also to his supporters. My personal opinion: He did NOT say he doesn't like the song but I am to the impression (as I intimately watched and listened to him in his video which he has deleted already), he is NOT really happy to perform with the chosen song.

Simon has his own favorites whom he'd like to win, which explains why he gave the golden buzzer to Boogiestorm, a crappy act that even the other judges didn't think merited the golden buzzer (which Simon stole from Howie). Simon does this all the time - in both America's Got Talent and Britain's Got Talent (I've followed both shows over the years). In fact, possibly at Simon's command, Boogiestorm was brought from BGT, where Simon "loved" them but they failed to win. Simon owns the shows, so he can do what he wants. He has set up Marcelito for failure. I hope I'm wrong but that's what it looks like to me. It was obvious from his comments at the semi-final. After the amazing performance by Marcelito which brought the house down, and all the other judges were raving about it, including Howie, who said that Marcelito had the best shot of winning the competition, Simon quickly threw a wet blanket over it and said something to this effect: "You'll have to do something better that if you want to win!" And when the crowd sort of booed him, he quickly changed his tone and said: "Oh but you'll have a massive career before you" (unsaid subtext; "even if you lose.") Next thing Simon does is force on Marcelito a mediocre song that won't showcase Marcelito's unique talent like The Prayer and Time to Say Good-bye" did.. The other thing is - why does Simon force Marcelito to sing a song of his choice? Surely Simon does not dictate what the magicians or dancers or acrobats do in their acts! It's clearly unfair to Marcelito. It puts him at a huge disadvantage. A singer should at least be allowed to choose the song, otherwise how can the singer show off his/her best if the singer is not familiar with the song, or the singer does not particularly like the song and therefore feels nothing for it,, or the song is not suited to the singer's voice or singing ability? But I hope Marcelito will rise to the occasion and do something spectacular with his voice, like sing the song at an extraordinary high key and do breathtaking voice switches. Marcelito's talent is his ability to sing in two voices, and, above that, sing in both voices beautifully. This talent can best shine and be best appreciated when there are no gimmicks in the performance! The purity of both his tenor/baritone and soprano voices voices is Marcelito's real forte. By the way, the winner is announced a week after the grand finals. Here again the voting by the so-called super fans can be manipulated or downright rigged. The grand finals are on the 10th and the winner announcement on the 18th.

Hey guy, when it is said, Simon's team, it means that include Simon being the head of that team. Meaning, he picked the song in consultation with the members of his team and if everyone agreed, that's what goes. Or, they will have a bunch of songs and each one will give their opinion but it is still Simon who will weigh the best choice. That's how the team works. I'm sure Marcelito can do justice to any song. And I think they are setting him up for a win. Remember, Simon really like Marcelito and he thinks he has the makings of a big star. Marcelito might think the song is not that great, but the point is, if he can make a not so great song amazing, that's talent. Think of Elvis Presley, he sang so many songs that have been around for a while but did not become a hit , when Elvis used it, they became no. 1 songs in the chart worldwide. The scenario that can happen also is, those dancing robots can be decllared champion to help them monetarily and share the winnings among themselves because there is not too many venues where they can perform their craft but they know Marcelito will be a big attraction everywhere and a big money maker and I will not be surprised if he is ask to perform in Las Vegas. Basically, Marcelito is telling his fans that the song he's going to sing in the finale is not in the list of the 10 songs he submitted to agt. Simon chose a song for him that he finds okey but not a song fit for a competition/finale. The agt team needs Simon's approval if the song arrangement is okay for him. I can see it in his eyes that he really finds his finale song as only an okay song and not fit for him to win the competition. This is just sad. They should let the acts pick their own song for the finale so they can showcase what they got, win or lose.

yeah, Lulu's correct. They indeed are choosing for him (Simon's Team) and Simon himself will have the final say because he will listen to everything else before they have a go sign. But what I want to know if Marcelito would also have a say on how he will sing it, the presentation and everything else. We do know now that it won't be an operatic song, but I believe in MP so he can really also show that he is not limited to that genre. Marcelito for the Win!!!!!

Whatever the song is, it should satisfy the superfans. I believe the superfans will be deciding instead of the judges. So it's about presentation, need to show another surprise. So far we only heard his voice; he's been singing by himself on stage and his voice only. Don't get me wrong, that by itself had captivated everyone who heard him perform on AGT Champions and for that he is already the champion. I'm just imagining… for presentation, It would be nice to start the song by himself doing his own duet then towards the climax of the performance, a female singer enters and they sing an actual duet (the female singer and him singing the male voice), then turn on the other side while a male singer enters the stage (singing an actual duet with the male singer toward the end with him singing the female song)... the finale with three voices, him taking the highest voice. :)

I watched the original video too, she was right with the translation. The gist of the video is, the team chose a song that they thought would pass Simon’s criteria. It’s a song he knew but he felt it’s not challenging enough. Simon is the boss and makes the final decision on what song he will sing in the finals. But honestly, I think the finals has been recorded already and they already knew the result. It will be aired on Monday. This is just my personal opinion, if I’m reading between the line, he didn’t win the AGT. That’s why he urged his fans, no matter what happen, to continuously support him.
