Saw him live in Atlanta last year. He is the most talented, humble, generous person ever. All of his You Tube earnings go to his charity for children and the elderly. He was abandoned as a child by his mother and his dad was in prison. Lived in the streets of the Philippines from about 7 until his early twenties.

Yeah. The Philippines are full of incredible singers. Marcelito is a fantastic singer. His ability to switch between male and female is truly unmatched. Since you are starting this journey, on the Wish bus no less, sooner or later, you will find the 3 great female singers of the PH. I called them the 3 Queens of the PH. Fabulous reaction, Jenna. When you listen to the original, you will be amazed at how Marcelito imitates them. The only thing he couldn't do was the harmonies. As you can see in my comment below, Marcelito does the harmonies in his recording on his album "Duet Yourself". Again, an excellent reaction, Jenna. Your observations were right on. He is singing in two languages that he does not speak (during the performance you watched). Many Filipinos learn English, but Marcelito grew up on the streets since about age 7 with very little formal education and no singing training. His father was in jail and his mother abandoned him. Since becoming more famous he has been learning English. His wife translates for him during interviews. Italian reactors have said that Marcelito's Italian is clearer than Andrea's.

I don't understand why Marcelito Pomoy has never released any new work to the public since he was in AGT. Mostly, he was at some concerts or just singing casually at home (not at good sound quality). I really hope to see and hear his songs at the Wish 107.5 bus radio station again. For example, he had been performing Narito Ako in female voice live on the radio bus station for about 6 years, but it was the song Prayer that cemented his place as one of the world's most recognizable and talented singers.

He has been singing The Prayer since it first won him Filipinos Got Talent in 2011. As for what he has been doing COVID quarantine followed right after his appearance on AGT and he does sing around the world on tour but generally to Filipinos because he does not speak english fluently. His wife translated for him at AGT for example and he had another translator for him when he appeared on the talk show Ellen.

His Italian is pretty accurate, but many Filipinos can speak Spanish, and Italian is not too far off. Also the Tagalog pronunciation is actually closer to Italian than to English. But still, a great performance without a doubt!

Greetings Jenna. I first saw Marcelito on AGT a few years ago and while he has pretty astounding range, like @Darrell71, it's not my sort of thing. I think though, that the standard bearer of that style of extended extreme range is an Asian by the name of Dimash, whom @writerfrank58 mentioned with the song "SOS". What I particularly like about that really is the song SOS, which is from a 1976 French/Canadian Rock Opera called Starmania. The song composition has certain aural musical hooks that really resonate with my soul. It's hard to be specific what it is about what specifically it is, but I felt them the first time I heard it performed by the young Italian vocalist Giulia Falcone a few years ago (kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKqwnKJ4Z558hLM ). Though I'm not particularly a fan of Dimash, the song was written for a male singer and Dimish is certainly the alien that I'm sure the composer had in mine when he wrote it. The thing about Marcelito is that he is self trained not classical trained, by ear if you like. There are other artists capable of this such as Kazakhstani Dimash Qudaibergan who is triply trained in opera but also uses pop style and others. So he is easily & more accomplished now than Marcelito but unlike Marcelito he is trained classically & can play multiple instruments professionally. The other is Gabrielle Henrique from Brazil able to sign in the key of Whitney Houston & Maria Carey. So if it's done then it can be replicated. The standards are going up is all

Hi Jenna, I hope I understood your name correctly. Marcelito's voice and the rapid change of voices is impressive. I was also very surprised when I heard him for the first time. If you listen to the original, you will hear very few differences. He imitates (may I say it like that?) the two voices of Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion so well that if you don't look, you can hear them both. I recommend you a new artist - Diana Ankudinova Diana has a very rare voice. She is a contralto and she is also polyphonic, which means she can produce several tones at the same time. It makes her voice sound so full. Diana's background: Diana was born on May 31, 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She was severely abused as a small child and abandoned on the street by her birth mother in winter when she was only 3 years old with a broken collarbone. She was then taken to an orphanage where, after more than one year, she was adopted by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist. At the age of four and a half, Diana still could not speak properly. She also stuttered. Experts recommended that she take singing lessons to improve her general speaking and vocal skills. There is a TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. This season was in 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The judge who stands up is the great opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and the husband of Anna Netrebko, who is world famous. I know you probably have a ton of suggestions already but I have 2 awesome singers for you to listen to the first is from Americas got talent from a couple years ago her name is NightBird the song is "its ok" she was only able to do the audtion get a golden buzzer and then had to drop out due to cancer she has now passed from it but her legacy will live on and this year a South African young peoples choir came on to AGT and did a cover of her song if you do both in one reaction you will love it I promise. the second singer that will blow your socks off for real is Diana Ankudinova the place to start with her for most people is her cover of Elvis" Cant Help Faling in Love" then if you like her you can dive really deep into her music she has stuff on youtube from like 7 years old till now she is 20 now. ok I got my 2 cents in lol please do keep up the great work I will be here for your journey. PS I am a Ren Fanatic I think he is the best artist out there right now hands downso dont stop listening to his stuff as well.

I state dear, that I have a classical training in singing and violin and I am Italian. I met her by chance from a youtube council, (sometimes youtube from real advice). To this day I consider it the greatest in the world in modern music. Her timbre of voice recalls, a pinch of whitney (especially for the modification of the U and the low / medium vocal timbre of the chest), a drop of Mariah and a spicy of donna summer and Celine Dion, mixed and amalgamated together. After 8 years of following her, I am still amazed by what she can do, with her voice. Check, discover it, taste it, you don't have to react to it, but I advise you to record your reaction.
