Marcelito won Philippines Got Talent in 2011 and also competed in America's Got Talent - the Champions in 2020, placing 4th overall but #1 among the singers.

Oh. How touching you with your dad. My dad and I also shared a love of music. We used to watch telemundo and movies in Spanish because I was the only one among my siblings that learned to speak Spanish with a measure of fluency (sad considering we spent almost all holidays and vacations in Guanajuato with my grandparents but oh well)... So we had that too. But he passed in 2019 (no te olvidare, papi). But I also have 2 daughters with whom I share a love of music and the arts. Brought happy tears to my eyes watching you both enjoying the music together.

Because these is the first time, I am not sure if you have already reacted to Morissette Amon, another great singer from the Philippines. She is monster when it comes to 'cover' but she also have songs that she wrote herself. Please check her cover of Never Enough, Secret Love Song and Rise Up. Her single 'Love You Still, sunset version. She is a close friend of Marcelito and she was even the bridesmaid to Marcelito's wedding. Oh it’s so cool to see Lex’s dad! I’ve seen this video before, brilliant and bizarre at the same time. I used to watch the British X Factor online for some weird reason (probably came into my feed as I am not really a fan of talent shows for the music) back around 2015, and there is a Filipino all girl group called 4th Impact that you really should check out, they are four sisters with unbelievable harmonies. Check out their version of Adele’s “Hello” from the same WISH bus.

In the late 90s and early 2000,, there's a tv contest which they call "doble Kara" (double face or two faces) in which a male or female contestant must sing both the male and female voice,,, many Filipinos stretch their voices to enter the contest and those are the groundworks for most Filipinos who would be eager to sing both the male and female version of a song.. marcelito perfected the challenge so with some other Filipino singers

Another artist you may enjoy is Angelina Jordan, she won Norways got Talent at the age of 7 singing Jazz songs. She also does a lot of covers but puts her style to the songs. She has always, Evan back then done the arraignments to the songs she sings. She is now 18 and also writes her own songs.

Marcelito was born with the ability to sing in soprano, tenor and baritone ranges. He's also singing in both English and Italian, neither of them are his native language. And he's sitting down which makes a big difference. He was abandoned by his mother at age 7 and grew up on the streets. He cleaned chicken cages for money and would sing when he was frightened. Marcelito is completely self-taught and never had any training. He has been touring since 2022 in the U.S., Canada, and other countries. He has a big heart and a great sense of humor. He was on America's Got Talent and sadly only came in 4th, but won when he entered Phillpinos Got Talent.

Filipinos were given such singing talents by God. I love the facial expressions of surprise you guys had. Well, it’s not just singing talent that was given to the Filipino, dancing and again singing as well, like Bruno Mars, and also musical instruments, such as the Lead Gutarist of Metallica, Kirk Hammett and even comedy in the stand up comic named Jokoy. The Philippines for centuries, have had waves of migration, and racism aside, centuries of Interracial marriages, which, at present, due to technology and ease of travel, have become even more prevalent. For Filipinos, as long as one parent is Filipino, you are considered Filipino. Why did I mention this you may ask? The reason is because in Hollywood, there are so many Filipino actors and actresses, who have made it big. Just to mention a few, there’s Lou Diamond Phillips,(Golden Globe nominee) Lea Salonga, (Disney Icon) Darren Criss (Emmy Award for lead role in “The Assasination of Gianni Versace”) Steven R. McQueen “The Vampire Diaries”, (grandson of Hollywood Icons Steve McQueen and Filipina actress Neil Adams), Dave Bautista as “Drax the Destroyer” in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Vanessa Hudgens of “High School Musical” series, Hailee Steinfeld( Marvel Studios, “Hawkeye”), Nico Santos(2021 HCA award for Best Supporting Actor in a Broadcast Network or Cable Series, Comedy). Always a surprise. After seeing this video, Ellen Degeneres had him on her show, and got him a pass to see his idol Celine Dion backstage in Vegas. He grew up on the streets of Manila, until someone convinced him to enter Philippines Got Talent, which he won. Then he later appeared on America's Got Talent. I suggest also showing Lex some other artists I had originally intended for NicknLex reactions - like Aurora, Morissette Amon, the "Melodic Marathon" and the Rachel Flowers Marathon.
