I think you are interpreting this song wrong. The first Easy is about Troye’s break up with his real life, long time bf...it implies that Troye cheated in response to his BF’s distance in the relationship. It’s nnot a chill song. It’s about his real relationship ending, it’s about devistating heartbreak ...for the remix it’s still about the break up but they tweaked it to add Kacey. Kacey actually wrote her parts of the remix, the lyrics are different from the original Easy single, but Troye’s are the same. Troye said this video is about two people running away, from each of their own bad relationships. Changing their looks, having a wild night on the run.

Yeah I had a feeling my interpretation was off lol. But that makes so much sense and I meant the song was more chill energy wise but a relationship ending that way definitely isn’t chill. Love is complex and I’m glad Troye could turn this emotional time in his life into a beautiful song that weirdly makes you feel good. Maybe that’s just me on the feel good part though even with knowing the meaning 👀
