I loved the episode. It looks great and I totally forgot you can actually build a pier in this scenario. Some (hopefully) constructive feedback, you can slow down your pace a little bit. You are probably the most knowledgeable RCT player around and I love watching you create this kind of stuff. 10 mins feels on the shorter side to get into the details!

I think this is the best 'Marcel Plays' video so far. It has everything: a successful park, a cool personal challenge, casual murder, lovely scenery work, Marcel's OCD making things difficult for him, and crucially, neat RCT knowledge (Bumbly Beach's extensive construction rights).

This is my favourite of the series so far! I remember building a pier in Bumbly Beach but it was basically just a boardwalk with some shops and flat rides. Nothing as detailed and extensive as this! I especially liked the observation tower rising up through the pier. That would be a tourist attraction for sure!

I recall there's an entire scenario around a big pier in RCT1, which can be accessed by OpenRCT2 if you set up the file path to RCT1 game folder in the settings.

@@StefanVeenstra The problem with Big Pier (or Paradise Pier) is that it's quite far out into the sea and you can't change the very long skinny 1-tile wide path that leads from the beach to your park.

Hell yeah! I love these videos. Y'all know how people do 'challenge video: difficult task'? Marcel is good at the extremely optimized style of playing this game. This is the challenge mode for him "realistic park" and I love it. It's also super inspiring to see simple but still scenic parks

I feel like this shows one of the biggest differences between OpenRCT2 and the original games. In the original RCT1, at least, that kind of path would tank your park rating in no time flat due to guests getting lost.

When I tried this scenario for the first time when I was a kid, I struggled a lot, couldn't really fill up the park and probably failed (can't remember exactly). When I tried this scenario couple more times, I managed to succeed, filling up most of the park. When I became adult and tried this scenario again, I became so good at this game, completely filled up the park, and even managed to expand to the beach a little bit. But in this video, Marcel took it to a whole another level and built the entire park on the beach and the ocean.

An idea to make pier from bumbly beach: 1. Enter the RCT2/OPENRCT2/RCT classic If u enter the classic mode, it contains buys 2. Enter and save the bumbly beach, 3. Go to scenario Editor, (make it no money or with money) 4. Remove the path for pathable beach Well done! U unlocked ur own pier for bumbly beach!

No ridiculous optimisation stuff, but just you building a cool park with a nice (yet still somewhat realistic) twist or constraint for yourself. @MarcelVos Your stuff is amazing. You have given me a lot of inspiration for my own RCT2 builds. Absolutely love the way the Observation Tower comes out of the Pier, it's an excellent aesthetic. I'm currently working on a park that's heavily inspired by Battleship Bay from Bioshock Infinite and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and will definitely be using a Pier design like this for some of it. Out of homage to you I will be sure to give some of my rides the Rainbow coloring like you do in a number of your parks.
