Yes, Later when the soil warms up, I sometimes start old seeds in the garden to see if they will sprout, and if so, will transplant into the regular garden. Thanks for watching

Just wondering if seed soaking is a good idea befor planting. Seems like it might help those longer germination seeds, like peas, corn, beans, etc.

If you soak peas and bean seeds, they will swell up and possibly not sprout, so a very short time, maybe an hour, is all they need. If you soak corn and okra for about 12 hours, it will help very much. Just remember, if you see the seeds swelling too much, stop the soaking process.

Hello, I planted my starter seeds of squash beginning of March and they have done very well. I have not placed in ground due to a lot of rain and some cooler temperatures. Does this mean I will have dry roots?

Hi Sharoslyn... I don't know about dry roots, but it depends on when you plan to plant in the ground. I don't like to keep Squash or Cucumbers in the starter pots more than a week, so I wait until about a week before I plan on planting outdoors to start them, or just wait for warm weather and plant in the ground. The problem is they may get root bound in a small container, or get very leggy and weak if you hold in starter containers too long. However, you will still likely get a decent crop in the end, so hang in there...
