March 2024 - Update, winter projects and can koi keeping be simplified?

When I saw your wood working projects I immediately thought of the story of Gulliver's Travels with you being a resident of the land of Lilliput. Very impressive work indeed. Hopefully the weather warms up soon for all of us so that we can once again enjoy our ponds and koi as they should be, active and happy. Cheers.

Hi Steve and cat. Nice to see you back making videos. I’ve been keeping koi for over 30 years and always had old school filtration. Had some ups and downs but it’s always work. Bit more maintenance but surely that’s what the hobby is about. Looking after water is the main thing and getting your hand dirty once a week is not all that bad. All the new filter systems etc do make your life easier but at a cost and if you don’t mind getting your hands dirty then simple box filter systems may be the way to go for some people. Anyway all the best glad all is well.

The yard looks definitely green & lush after all the rain. We’re getting so much rain here in NH USA too. Looking forward to warm sunny summer days. Can I ask what was the winery you mentioned (crickenau?) outside of city (kishinow?). Planning a trip to UK for the BKKS National show and would love to check out that winery. Thanks for any info you can provide.
