I had one 3/26/19 and I was walking down the stairs, and them spectra alert classics were capping at high notes, and even worse, they had those horns next to them, and basically, I almost couldn't hear again I was 10 or 11 at that time

Where I am, everybody has to be in a straight line as we walk out, then we all sit on the turf in rows as teachers do roll call. When we go back in each class goes back one at a time in a line.

How often are your fire alarms tested, Josh? In the UK, it's a legal requirement for fire alarms to be tested in schools at least once every term

Normally it’s two drills for the first month of the year, then the rest is one drill for each month. As far as legal requirements go, I’m not exactly sure. Neither do my guys at the Fire Department. It really depends on the district, and State/Local Government laws and requirements for that particular area.

Why is nobody lined up? At my high school school EVERYBODY had to be in a single file line and remain calm/silent as we walk onto the turf. Then we all had to sit down as the teachers do roll call. And after each class got to go back into the school one by one.

Suppose there are blind people in the room, hid the door is shut and you can’t hear what’s going on out in the hallways good, how would they know that there’s a fire? Our high school got renovated last year with the same problem, some rooms had both sound and strobe, others only had strobes. How are blind people supposed to know there’s a fire if they’re not getting the alert they need?

Hornshow Railfan What exactly are you trying to ask? During a fire drill, the admins will typically call an alarm company to put the system on test. That way when the alarm activates the signal does not get transmitted to the fire station. In any other case, the fire alarm system sends an alarm signal to your monitoring station, e.g. Simplex. If they get a signal, they are usually legally required by fire codes to call 911 so the fire department can investigate the alarm. That is why most students only pull the alarms for drills, otherwise they’re wasting valuable time away from the fire department, which can land you in a heck of trouble. I hope this helps!

Tribe Time is a class period between first and second block we use as a non-instructional time for students to have a bit of down time, time to make up any work, attend clubs, and many other things. Because we are the Montgomery County Indians, we call this Tribe Time. Students have 30 minutes of it every school day before we transition to our second block classes.
