Speaking of Mrs. Piggle wiggle, I got it from the library because of your suggestion and it was a game changer for my little boy (5) enjoying read alouds before bed. His older sister has always loved to be read to but he usually complains about it. This book had him laughing so hard and it's the first time I've heard him beg, "Please one more chapter mom?!" My heart is full! Thanks for the suggestion!!

Also, thank you for sharing your mom's wisdom for those of us whose moms....lack wisdom. I need to make room to rest, too.

I certainly am very thankful for her. She's a huge blessing!

Loved hearing your update! Wow, you really do have a ton of family festive events during March. We have one lighter school day each week, the extra time is very helpful for tackling the weekly "big" household cleaning chores--we also live in a larger home now compared to the apartment we lived in, so I understand the time required for housecleaning being more than we're used to.

Now that I've got a system where the kids are all actively involved in the cleaning it has taken a load off for sure! It's challenging in the really little years, for sure.

The upside of being 4 months behind on youtube is that I get to be in the same season as you.

So I also started my daughter on MwC-K and felt like it was going over her head a bit, so we did Good and Beautiful Math K and got through the first unit. I felt like she has a better grasp with numbers and how they work, so now I’m switching back to MwC and including the corresponding G/B lessons to keep the stories and pictures part of our math. So far this is working out really well! You got this, mama! Even though the years go fast, motherhood (and everything that goes with it) is still a marathon, so definitely pace yourself and enjoy the journey!

Thank you for your kind words. :) Yes, we're switching back and forth between the two curriculums and it's working well at the moment.

I love summer weather and we are in a lot of hot places!!! My kids are loving it but I don’t try to keep too busy as I know we will have good weather on our travels!!! Our school yr has finished but idk if we can take a break before the next school year!!! All my older kids have different math curriculums!!! I found that my kids wiv multiplication issues after they understood it they found division easy!!! I had kids this school year who took a math break after they finished the level and asked for a break!!! Since January we’ve not had a regular schedule and it’s working for us!!! My work is flexible so we need a flexible schedule!!! I use 5 day curriculum and it takes a bit longer if we don’t skip a lesson but if we skip a lesson it’s ok!!! We double up as well!!! Ur mom is right teaching is a full time job!!! My husband homeschools as well as me and our work is not the same days!!! My mum In law says the devil likes to get us busy if he can’t get us in other ways!!! Don’t worry how long organisational projects take as u will get to it!!! Praying for u!!! Ur kids could help u with chores!!!

So true, we all have our struggles! Glad you’re working on some new systems to make things run smoother and take some pressure off you! We can do many things, but not all. ❤ Good reminder for us mamas!!

Mamas are the best! I'm so thankful for my mom as well. I go to her when I need encouragement, and when I need someone to "set me straight." Praying for you moving forward into this restful living.

Gosh I relate to you in the sense of not feeling like you can stop as all the juggling balls may fall. I love the idea of having a day for rest as being around people all day isn’t my idea of rest 😅 I might see if I can prioritise nothing once a week. Gosh- I don’t know if I could stop 😅😂

I relate to you so much on this video. My daughter is 9 and we just started spelling. We are trying out the Sonlight LA and my daughter is really liking it. I didn't realize we got the same Sonlight level as you guys! We just gently started it and my kids LOVE it. And I hear you on the burned out, I definitely have been feeling it

I don’t know if it’s the same price everywhere…. But I’ve been getting my groceries delivered from countdown and if you pay the monthly fee it’s $4 a week! It’s been SO worth it and such a burden lifted

I definitely take advantage of grocery delivery on occasion. It is fantastic. :)

We found Mrs Piggle Wiggle and just discovered the Missy* continuing stories. They are updated so there aren’t rotary phones and suspenders and things she doesn’t understand 😂
