This is my 1970 Dodge Challenger with a 440engine which runs on propane fuel.

I commend you. Propane is an amazing fuel that needs to have more of a presence in racing. Depending upon the purity and region the LPG comes from, the octane rating can even reach 112. A racing engine on propane can produce just as much power as a gasoline burner; it's all in how you build it. Don't listen to the nay-sayers.

Hey Hermon, it's nice to see another Propane Powered Race Car out there. I've been running propane on my Chevelle since 1994, 20 years now, she runs low 10"s. What part of the country are you in? It would be great to get a video of 2 propane powered Race Cars on the track at the same time. I'[m in Michigan, and have traveled as far as New York and or Alabama for Racing.

Hope you still answer comments on this vid, but what company makes your carborator (s), or do you use fuel injection? Where do you keep your bottle, in the trunk or under the car? Lastly, is your car strictly strip or do you street drive as well? Thanks

What are you using, 2x Impco 425? OHG maybe?

Actually only 10 to 1 and 252*@.050-260*@.050 solid roller. Relatively low compression. Originally built it for gas and converted to propane for fun and expence. I normally don't comment anymore, but your last statement really struck a cord. I just don't understand why all "prostreet" and hi-po street cars don't use propane as a fuel! A 14 to 1 street car would love propane. Gasoline is such a destructive fuel. Was building an 8 sec superstocker on propane but money is currently a big issue.

A $1.89 a gallon for 106 octane fuel is the reason why I use propane. A real no brainer !!!!
