Jon, after watching you play, I went and bought this myself. A couple tips if you decide to take this on again: 1). A single zombie is easy enough to take down with melee without being hit. You swing faster than them. So attack, wait until you miss or hit, then run (before they can swing)... then go back and repeat. I've actually managed this on a few unscathed. 2). Knowing that, you can save a couple bullets each encounter against multiple zombies if you shoot all but one then use this trick on the last. 3). I found running toward a shooter in a zig-zag (versus directly) results in more misses by them. 4). Health only comes back through curative items 5). Any other item that doesn't sound like it has a use can be good for trade.

I'm no expert Jon, but you need to: A.) Be more aware of your characters position pre-encounter B.) Count how many shots your characters have taken C.) Flee more D.) Be conscious of zombie positioning during a battle E.) Learn to make much more intelligent decisions (IE gun >>>>>> hammer) It's not complaining, just advise. Love your playthroughs and hope to see more of this

Some tips for people playing this game: 1. Travel as much as possible, you want to visit all cities in the first two zones at minimum 2. In the first two zones you should have two people in your party. Three is a stretch, but may work 3. In the first two zones scavenge the cities for the longest time possible. If you encounter any resistance, you will still get all the rewards after dispatching all opponents 4. Melee is very effective against basic enemies, but you need to micro: attack once & move back 5. Do not eat until your bar is red or almost red

This game reminds me of a flash game called "The Last Stand - Union City" that I played some years ago. It's a great flash game and it has similarities with this game. I think it's of a cross of that game with FTL. I just think this game could use better graphics, it would help, and it also be great if they added some more actions during the combat. Sometimes, Jon is too nice to people on post apocalyptic scenarios. Of course William would be lying and even if he didn't it's not like an post apocalyptic world is the place to be judgmental about murder. Also, what did Jon expect by attacking an armed person using a hammer? Of course he would get shot... Even though the fact that not having a run function was bad for him, this game seems to make the characters miss shots really often and that is the only reason Jon didn't die right off the bat.

***** To me, it didn't seem a particularly dark night anyway. With the adrenaline and the moonlight, William probably would be able to offset the darkness some bit. I don't think a mildly dark night would be enough to not see a person running/walking towards you with a hammer.

Tips: - rest before eating - always take the opportunity to rest in cities (you search for a safe place) - stopping and resting on the road often won't result in an ambush, especially if you watch the growls and wake up just before they reach the top - running away and avoiding situations are always viable options

You can kite most of the zombies in the first zone so they aren't worth a bullet if there are less than 3. At least swap to melee once it's down to one left. You can get a hit off then back off if your dude has a target on him. Hp is the hardest resource to manage since healing is so rare. Make sure you have at least 3 team members when you get to the end of the game. One will most likely be busy.

dude stand in the middle of the map not on the edges, also always hammer the last zombie/zombies to party so if you have 3 party members shoot them till there is 3 left then melee saves so much ammo

Just a tip you can melee a single zombie without taking damage 99% of the time so that's a good way to save bullets early

Some tips: Rotters take about 5 seconds to actually launch their attacks. You can kill an whole horde of just rotters with any melee weapon as long as you hit once and move away directly after. This is only really viable if you only have one survivor. If a grabber or anything that isn't a rotter comes by with a horde, kill all non rotters with guns then switch back to melee to conserve ammo.
