March of Time: Challenge to Hollywood (1945)

The March of Time was an American newsreel series shown in movie theatres from 1935 to 1951.
This episode from the end of 1945 looks at the British film industry's efforts to win greater audiences after WWII. British moguls Alexander Korda and J Arthur Rank had already had some success getting their films on American screens but, as can be seen from the filming of Powell & Pressburger's "A Matter of Life and Death", Britain could ably compete with Hollywood for lavish sets and star names.
