Wish it was my memory, I was a 7 year old in 1962 living at Brentwood in Essex, my late mother had her final baby, and I had started at a school at Upminster in Essex, such a bland upbringing as compared to this gem of a film.

Couldn't help but think of this after Biden said "I'll respect the limits of the presidency." One of cinema's greatest monologues. And it isnt efen the only one Theo gets in this film.

A wonderful time capsule, I’m a big Powell and Pressburger fan. Finding out more about the two especially after watching made in England has been really interesting.

Anybody know why “where you gonna run to?” is such a familiar lyric to me? I can’t place it or whatever it’s similar to that I’m stuck on. Am I thinking of a Bob Marley song?

I learned of this film from George Markstein's book " The Cooler." He was one of the persons involved in the making of "The Prisoner" tv series.

1:26:35 Wundervoll und nach so vielen Jahren ist das Thema leider immer noch aktuell. Musikalisch einmalig. Gänsehaut beim großen Finale mit dem Orchester und den Trommeln.

And to think 'Peeping Tom', now considered a classic, almost ruined Powell's career.

Ik heb echt krom gelegen van het lachen toen ik dit filmpje voor het eerst zag. Betere komieken zijn er nooit meer gekomen na Laurel & Hardy.

Very interesting to see how this was presented & Narrated compared to the Nazi this & Nazi that of today. This was only 18 year after the War ended. When people wasn't has hysterical about the Nazis as they are 80 year later.

Agreed. The Nazis were at their worst in the 30s and 40s. Everyone knew first hand what a blight on humanity they were. Nowadays they are just a dramatised history lesson.

This guy was, and IS, a musical giant!! John had died before I discovered him and that is my loss. I own almost everything he released and that part of my music collection is sacred. JM was the real deal. Singer, songwriter AND one of the best guitar players ever! What a legacy he left to us who appreciate amazing music! Thank you for this upload!

Their dress only seems formal to us because the rules have changed. Now jeans, T-shirt, trainers and baseball cap have become the norm, but after another 50 years they will look as strange as frock coats and periwigs do now.

Not as good as the old Spy Training films, but good. The British caught most of the German spies sent to England and used them against the Nazis. They weren't as slick as they seemed apparently.
