I made a top/skirt combo last summer with the Sabina skirt and the Driftwood blouse and was really pleased with the outcome. It just gave more versatility to my wardrobe. It’s nice to see you back!

Your plans sound fabulous! Thank you for sharing the Gertie tank. I hadn't seen that before. I love how feminine it looks. I think a semi-fitted tank would look better with a fuller, ruffled skirt than the Whisper Blouse. Can't wait to see your newly organized sewing room!

Lots of lovely plans and a great idea to mix and match. I particularly love the Safiya dungarees…they were great to make, fit well and always look lovely…always have nice comments about them when I wear them. So love what your making this year. Means everything will go together and with makes from years before. I had the same idea 2 years ago. I had some beautiful print light green chiffon for my birthday, I decided to make a lined floaty maxi skirt with floaty boho blouse. It looks stunning. Can wear it as a dress or separately with other clothes. I bought some more dark print chiffon and made another set. I’ve had more wear from these pieces than a lot of my makes. Great way of keeping the cost down while making your beautiful garments coordinate with your wardrobe. Happy sewing Michelle, can’t wait to see your new makes❤️🤩

I love a plans video! I don't think there's anything at all wrong with not completing them all in a certain time frame! A huge part of sewing that I love, is simply contemplating and imagining the possibilities! It's fun to hear other's creative process in the works too. I am so excited to have gotten all three of Tilly's books for Christmas. You have me excited to make the safia dungarees now! And! You've also got me inspired to make something in a plain color to wear with all my colorful printed garments! I just love your channel and am looking forward to all your various upcoming videos!! 💜

Black is not boring colour, it's a basic . The mustard fabric , I'm sure you'll get a basic top and skirt out of it, even with a small ruffle on the skirt, don't worry xx Loving all your your plans, they are so thought out and I'm sure you will get lots of wear out of them xx

Michellle, the yellow (mustard) skirt that you are making for endo, I would making the longer style and only put a 6" ruffle on the bottom, that way you may have some fabric enough to make a top to go with it. (i.e., tank top, button down sleeveless, or the one that you showed us - sorry I forgot the name). Otherwise, I can't wait to see the other items you are making as they will look wonderful on you. Love the plans, especially the capsule wardrobe feel. The etty cami by Tammy has made is my fave top pattern to make when I have a small amount of fabric left to use. That might work with the skirt.

Love your plans. I’m getting my sewing room setup and I just had the girls serviced (yep I’m talking about my sewing machines 😅). I haven’t sewn since my surgery last year. Omg have you turned into me with all the black?! Love it! Lol! Take a look at the Phoebe Freebie pattern as you could make that into a top and it would go with the skirt perfectly as it's the same-ish pattern and has a list of top hacks. I have made it as a dress and it is lovely! Xx

Love your plan! I’ve a very short list, but as I’m fairly new at this I’m keeping it short so I hope it’s doable! I’ve just the hem on my Portobello trousers to finish (thank you so much for the sew along, my waistband fitted - but I had a smaller width at one end as well!). My next plan is from Tilly and the Buttons, some double gauze PJ trousers! So - will be re-running some of your previous sew alongs for some inspiration and look forward to the future ones - thank you Michelle xx

You could do the Little Pomegranate Sabina skirt (elastic waist, ruffle) with your double gauze and it would qualify for both challenges.... :)

Lovely video Michelle. I have just made the safiya dungarees for a holiday in the sun. I made the belt but struggled to get it sitting in the right place. I unexpectedly loved them without it but may get an elasticated one to try. My only criticism of the pattern was that the facings are very short and in the viscose linen I used moved around too much. I have fixed it by top stitching. I would either lengthen them next time or possibly line the bodice. I have never lined anything yet so need to work out how to do that!

Sewing Revival Patterns have a top pattern which uses a different fabric for the front and back, maybe a way of getting a top and skirt out of that yellow fabric.

Maybe you should just make 2 gertie vest tops to have a clean one when one's in the laundry or in the event it develops deodorant marks near armpits. Just a random thought. Love the yellow fabric.

I haven't used double gauze before. Do you iron it or is it best to leave it as it is after washing?

After pre washing I do give it a very general light iron just so that it is a bit more even when sewing. Once the garment is made up then I don’t often iron it unless it really needs it x
