It was great to hear this rendition of The Wellingtonian. Allow me to make a few comments. Harold's only son Harold Godfrey (known as Bill) is my wife's grandfather. B/m Harold Scotney, although he grew up in New Zealand was actually a native of Yorkshire, having emigrated when he was approx. 4 yrs old. In actual fact Bill is "The Wellingtonian". Harold wrote three marches that were given the "city of birth" names of each of their children. Bill is now 93 yrs, a very active man, with a mind still very active for Salvation Army music. He is a wonderful ambassador for this great march.

It was a joy to hear 'The Wellingtonian' once again.Along with my colleagues, I remember playing it in our small village (Hatfield Peverel) Salvation Army Band in Essex, England

Harold Scotney was himself a Wellingtonian, a formidable musician and Salvationist. He conducted the Salvation Army Wellington Citadel Band (New Zealand). He wrote "The Wellingtonian" which was used to introduce a weekly radio session of 'Bands on Parade' with Ernie Ormrod.

Rodney Southall that is very interesting information about B/M Scotney. Thanks for sharing it. If I can ever get a picture of him I will re upload this march with his picture.

I believe this march was written by H. Scotney. Please double check on this.
