Regarding the postal service. I sat next to an "executive" for the postal service on a cross USA airlines flight. I asked him about the DeJoy mail machines being removed. He shared his thought, that everything done was legit improvements. Didnt seem to "support dejoy" necessarily, but just saying he though or could see legit purpose and improvements for what had been done and a need. Now, i dont know any specifics and all i recall was the sorting machines being removed. But he specifically said it was an automation improvement overall or something like that and he said the new reporting was inaccurate. Thats all i know, dont know what to think or believe but i personally dont see the leader guy as a good guy with pure intentions, my impressions.

US postal service is CRAP! Unbelievably expensive and completely useless! A small package (just larger than a letter.. $13! And the guarantee of delivery time...NONE! it literally took 10 days to send a bill payment across town...they expected late fees...I could have walked it in! I sent a parcel to the UK...it cost $110..made the mistake of detailed customs slip...it never arrived, claimed lost...filed insurance that I paid for.. THEY REFUSED! Told me too bad..things happen! 😡🤬 2 weeks ago a parcel I sent to Australia...$195! The contents were worth far more and the post office refused to insure for more than $100. For gods sake.....RIDICULOUS! Only took 11 days to arrive...

Hey Lena, I dropped my ballot into the outgoing mail slot yesterday. Last night I received an email that it had been tracked on its way. Today’s email told me my ballot has been received and counted - thanking me for voting. California does a really good job! In fact EVERY registered voter receives a mail in ballot as well as voter pamphlet. We have the choice whether to mail in or vote in person. Thanks for being you!❤🌻

I was lump's banker in Palm Beach in 2004-5 when he got married to Melania and bought her Mercedes wedding present. I had a private tour of Mar-a-lago too. It's old, musty, and not worth the laughable $1.2B he touts. All older houses along the south Florida shoreline are like that. Marjorie Merriweather Post would be appalled at the crass "updates" he did with the gold painted ceilings and classless atmosphere. People hated him back then, and having lived in Northern NJ for 22 years, I already knew exactly what kind of person he was. Sure, there's some really interesting things about the place, but he had nothing to do with it.

Mail delivery has continued to grow worse. I'm working with USPS supervisor on a refund for 1/2 dozen shipping labels that were never scanned in, packages never delivered. It's turned into a big mess. The USPS guy said he felt his hands were tied to stop what is happening. They're in the process of integrating 12 hubs into 1. I reported to Biden, hope someone is paying attention before it's too late. Would love a read on this. Thanks Lena! 💫

Colorado's vote by mail system is similar to California's. Everyone gets a mail-in ballot. Fill it out, drop it into a mailbox or special collection center. Get a text or email message when your ballot has been received, and again when it's been tabulated. DeJoy can't muck with voting mail here.

And they’re very vocal and out front about doing so. The idea of everything they’re doing is to strip women of the ability to have any options whatsoever. If a woman has sex, whether consensual or forced and she becomes pregnant, she will have no choice but to give birth. The laws in Texas alone resulted in over 65,000 unwanted pregnancies last year. Getting rid of contraception will again, force women to risk pregnancy whenever they have sex, no matter what the circumstances. And since most divorces are initiated by women, banning no-fault divorce actions will prevent those women from being able to get one. Meaning that no matter how shiftless, physically or emotionally abusive, unfaithful or dangerous their husbands are, they will not be able to leave them. Men will once again hold the power of life and death over their wives’ heads. And because husbands will force their wives to keep getting pregnant, it will ultimately reverse the downward spiral of low births which is what this whole movement is all about. Alito admitted that the falling birth rate is bad for businesses and so women have to be forced to have children again. The only tools women have against this coercion are celibacy and refusing to enter heterosexual relationships of any kind with men. And to carry weapons of some kind to protect themselves from being raped and impregnated. Or relocate to Blue states. Or at minimum, VOTE BLUE!

I am a senior citizen, and I have never seen the post office worse than it is now. Our senator, Tim Kaine, has requested meetings with local postmaster. Nothing was resolved, and he has been getting the runaround. My friends, in other states advised me that the situation is dismal. DeJoy has definitely weakened our once reliable Postal Service.

I received a phonecall from a surveyor and actually picked up. I thought it might be interesting. I was wrong. I can't figure out who was paying for the survey, but it definitely wasn't my current US representative nor her more-likely opponent judging on the questions asked. I learned the challenger is being supported by that same Texas billionaire, Crowe, the one who is Clearance Thomas' financier. I didn't care for the man before, I certainly like him less knowing that tidbit.

I'm a mailman for the US postal service. The pay s'cks and there needs to be more workers

I worked for the PO for 14 years and boy, when they went too automated they cut too many workers. Then it all became about numbers. I live 200 miles from the main PO sorting center (where I had started out before moving here) and we used to sort and distribute all the local mail, locally and it never left the town. After they got more automated, all the mail had to go to Omaha to be sorted by machine and counted, then trucked back out here to be sorted again and delivered. That’s a 400 mi journey, thus a delay, to mail that needn’t ever have left the town. I left in 2002 after 14 years. Since then, in these really small rural POs they’ve reduced the work force to the point you have one person doing what 3 clerks used to do. That’s having to get up at 4:30 am, get ready for work, do everything six days a week. It’s too much, so people quit after a few months. It’s just not worth it anymore. Our mail service sucks now compared to 30 years ago.

@@mr.mauriceevansjones I think the mail service was at the correct level of automation in the 1980s when I started out on a machine coding mail. There were 12 of us coding 60 letters a minute, while 4 people would be in back of the machine, pulling the mail from the slots and putting it in the trays to be loaded in a truck. We rotated so everyone could take a turn in back and stretch their legs. It’s amazing what the human eye can see and read at a fast speed. It takes practice but once you get the hang of it, you don’t even half to think about it, but if there’s an error on the envelope it catches your attention immediately. Anyway, every piece of mail had human eyes on it. In Omaha, we had 4 big machines running 24/7. They’d shut it down for two, 15 min breaks and one 1/2 lunch. We had separate machines for magazines and people did those too. There were hundreds of us working 3 shifts. Then I transferred to the rural PO and around 1999 we were told Omaha was going automated for everything except packages. So, they eliminated the coders, so no more human eyes on every piece of mail. We started getting piles of missorted mail, which had to be sent back to Omaha (the machines couldn’t sort letters that well because of handwriting). Sometimes people do better than machines. But, even back in the 80s, Republicans wanted to privatize the PO and I think they’ve been working toward that goal ever since. Ironically, now some of the sparsely populated rural red states are figuring out how that’s going to affect them….but it’s too late. They’ve gutted the work force and put too high of a workload on the people that they do have. They’ve damn near run it in the ground. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t actually worked at the PO has any idea how to fix it, or put it back together. I know I was amazed the first time I ever walked onto “the floor” of the main Omaha, PO in 1988. Now, if I saw it, I’d probably just feel sad.

Yes, I live in SO Colorado in a very rural town. When I mail something to NM, it goes up north to Denver 260 miles, then SE over to Pueblo , then somehow over to NM, which is only 100 miles from my home. It makes no sense! Mail to NY, 2,000 miles, gets there quicker. We need more hubs out West and in the SouthWest.

I'm in Southern California and voted Tues by mail. Got two emails that day that the post office had received my ballot and then that it had been sent on to the polling station. On Wednesday I got two more emails, first that it had arrived at the polling station and then that it was counted. So easy for my family.
