In the Korean War four American Corpsman were marooned on land in December of 1950. My father was one of the Corpsman. Their ship, the Haven, had bugged out along with all the ships in the Bay. The North Koreans had overrun an Army Division. The four Americans left the base with a British detachment. During many battles, these Corpsman were woven into part of British battalions. The Battalions had bagpipers. Dad said Brits were a joy to be with. He said they were all so brave. Pipers playing on and on while the soldiers fought. The music gave strength to the troops. As the soldiers advanced, so did the bagpipers, playing on and on. Inspiring the troops onward. Amazing!!!

Like BILL MILLIN, personal bagpiper of Lord LOVAT FRAZER during the D.DAY. He followed and play for his master and friend with the 1first wave of assault, playing BLACK BEAR. Germans soldiers, seeing this crazy man playing in the rage of fights, thought he was mad and didn’t shot him. Highlanders prefer ignoring the fear. LOVAT himself said ” excuse us old chap, we are late ” to Major HOWARD, effectively he was late...of 2 minutes.

It’s the Archers company , it’s made up of a lot of ex soldiers and other stuff basically the official ceremonial bodyguard of the monarch when in Scotland , Royal Company of Archers , over 300 (1676)years old not that much younger than the Scots Guards funnily enough (1642)

My sister did a DNA test. We are Scandinavian, but we were quite surprised to learn that 34% of our DNA was Irish, Scottish and Welsh. That must be the reason why I have always loved bagpipe music. It stirs my soul. We assume this British/Irish link is through our American great-grandmother. Family lore has it that she was “English”. More likely Irish…
