Well that all depends on when you grew up. In my High School years we played a lot of K.C.& the Sunshine Band, Earth Wind & Fire, and James Brown arrangements to name a few. I played snare drum and the K.C. arrangements were probably my favorite to play.

I heard them do this live when I was in band in High School. We were a show band from the Greater New Orleans area at one of the games and to say that we were absolutely captivated is a total understatement. As a brass player, it isn’t just loud, it’s freaking clean.

I marched 6 years in a classic style high school marching band. I have developed a deep appreciation for quality marching bands. I frequently listen to high end college shows, and my real passion is DCI. This band is very loud, and I like that alot, but it is also on pitch, and I love that.

Southern has been playing this since the 80’s not 2009, as someone stated, I attended Southern in ‘83, so I witnessed them blowing this song and Cameo’s “Talking out the side of your Neck”, out the Water!!! Let represent the Human Jukebox with Real information!!!

That was awesome and impressive sound. It's also sad. So many young black Musicians, and nowhere to play. My favorite bands of the past like the Commodores, EW & F, Parliament, Kool & the Gang, LTD, etc. had their own brass sections. Their groups were big, and so was their sound. It is because of this I hate most rap, because it's all about one individual who can't sing, can't dance, can't play an instrument , can't read or write music. Not all but most of them. I mean Prince could play 20 instruments, even the Taste of Honey, both of them played instruments. I wish some of these musicians brings back those sounds and music. Who knows how many future stars are in this group alone!
