Thank you for your easy to understand artwork. I am making my first one now. I would like to make a suggestion for people purchasing bottle cutters. The one I bought showed that I could cut at the base of the bottle if I moved the blade and one wheel . However when I went to do that , the holes did not align and fortunately I have a drill press so after contacting the seller and advising his advertisement showed that I could move these. He researched and found that it was lacking and gave me the bottle cutter and refunded me. I think they will probably fix that. So I drilled the new holes. Cut the bottle perfectly and am working on it now. Thank you again!!! I am in the mountains of Virginia.

Beautiful design! I have never seen anyone use a leather cord for hanging. Excellent idea! As well as the plastic for the wind catcher. I purchased a bottle cutter several years ago and still have not tried it. I will pull it out and git 'er done! TFS. Blessings in Christ...

I sure enjoyed this…2 questions: 1. Will the faux mercury do anything sprayed inside colored glass? 2. If you want to use whole bottle to make 3/4” rings - how would you do this? A comment on removing labels….WD-40 works so well on many labels, but so of the more current are plasticized labels…is my first go to.

For the paddle. Do you have to use something light and solid. I used a piece of jewelry which had holes.
@marcieziv10 ай бұрын
Hello! Unless it’s sizable jewelry may not be the right choice. A suggestion would be for the wind paddle to use cds, aluminum from baking sheets, plastic from old storage containers etc. even styrofoam from veggie or fish and meat containers. You can paint these up and attach as your wind flapper😀 I hope this helps. Thank you for watching my channel. I truly appreciate it🥰

Tumbling to make sea glass. I really wish there was a process that made real sea glass. I’ve never seen diy/manmade sea glass that looks like the stuff we find on our local beaches. Nothing makes sea glass as good as ocean water, sand, and currents.

How do I make these wind chimes with square bottles?
@marcieziv Жыл бұрын
Hi Roxanne! There are Two ways I would approach this. One is to bring your square bottles to a glass company and have them do it for you. And second is to get a glass scorer ; score the glass like you normally would in one pass through and proceed with the hot/cold method . The remaining steps would be the same as with the round bottles. 🦋thank you for being here and watching my video🌷

@@marcieziv , thanks! I think I found a similar cutter from Amazon and just ordered it. Do you worry about inhaling glass partials when sanding?
@marcieziv3 жыл бұрын
@@deedeekim1940 I found sanding in water... the edges of the bottle put in a cap /vessel of water and use a wet dry sandpaper. When done in this manner with water it eliminates glass particles. (You could obviously wear a mask during this process for extra extra precautions )

They’ll never be anything like it at all ever in the entire world isnt that amazing to think about. Everything that you make, and put a hand to will have a story to it.

And who has such tools at home, ha ha. It is better to buy wind chimes. Although these bottles look nice, the sound is not that great. Demonstrate more of the sound of these bottles and you won't have to jump right into DIY. ;-) Greetings from Central Europe.
