Barrera won the mental battle too, the refusal to touch gloves, the taunting, the not playing into the princes stare down interactions between rounds, out grappling him, a mild disregard for being penalized, staying focused, maintaining that scrapper demeanor with a steadfast poise and calm was a fine display in the art of war.

Vincent Foronda to be clear naseem hamed was a king And a strong boxer had 37 wins 33 knock-outs, he was a big trashtalker Cause barrers watched all his fights And understood his game he Just kept throwing the jab So hamed doesnt dominate him. What is smart of him. After found 2 hamed understood that barrera knows his game And switched from strat he won the next round, barrera knew he changed his strategy, So did barrera then. Barrera is smart for doing that tbh. On the other side if iT was for both there first match hamed would have won Cause barrera watched old fights from hamed to understand his game What is kinda unfair, hamed is a legend has won 37 games And 1 loss. Kind of mad that he quit the sport Cause 1 loss. He has the best win loss ratio. If hamed understood the first round What barrera was doing the whole game would have changed And najem would actually use defense( What he usually doesnt do) But he didnt. And of the story najem is the king of boxing. But barrera destroyed him. Najem has the best win loss ratio.

@@cocksure8430 It's all relative, isn't it? You admit that Barrera was one of the greatest of all time, therefore Prince Naseem was not. Boxing fans of all nationalities will speak of Barrera for generations. As much as the Prince was a skilled pugilist, he will not be spoken of in that way, out-with the UK. You said "nobody, NOBODY..." would agree with my assessment. That is objectively wrong. I was living in New York when this fight took place and was lucky enough work alongside the celebrated boxing writer Jerry Izenberg. Before he fight he told me that the American boxing public was unconvinced about Prince Naseem. He was right, And so am I. They forgot how and why Barrera got a name and he lost a razor close fight to El Tigre Morales. So they made the fight and Prince danced and tried his unorthodox attack. He didn't know he had a man in there who'd die before he'd lose. A hard man with a hard heart and a mind that could not be distracted from the fight be antics and posing and hype. He dropped down and threw that loopy hook and pulled straight back and Barrera was waiting. He came forward with that Mexican style and beat the shit out of Hamed Made him respectful and then later fearful. Barrera dropped him once and staggered him multiple times. The reality of this fight was that Nas was a very good fighter, but Barrera was elite. He took Nas to school and boxed his ears off. He did a classic strategy of "walking the lefty into the left hook". He jabbed, feinted with the jab, set up the right hand and when Nas moved to his right to avoid the right, the left hook was waiting for him. He did it over and over again and Nas couldn't adapt. I also didn't like the way Nas brought religion into it. He was quoted as saying Barrera worshiped a false god and of course came in with the word "Islam" on trunks. I thank the Prince for being such a unique boxer. You got to love these villains of the sweet science. Makes shit way more interesting up in the ring.

Barrera is the most underrated fighter ever, he was great defensely, threw great counter punches, had good speed, and all the heart in the world. He had no weaknesses and was good at just about everything! I miss watching him fight

I love this fight, Barrera just ignored the clown stuff, and used a solid boxing technique to beat the stuffing out of Prince.

Naseem said that barrera couldnt knock him out or drop him which is true but he ended his career. Sometimes its worse to get a 12 round beating than a knockout
@jackspring77092 жыл бұрын
The fact that naseem was even reduced to saying "yeah but he didn't knock me out" shows just how pathetic naseem really is.

Barrerra just showed everyone what it looks like when a boxer who was carefully paired up with bums faces a real boxer. The stupid smiles and taunts don’t mean anything except entertainment for the simple minded.

@@alexandervasko5012 This fight is like a Mandela Effect. In history this has went down as a masterclass, in fact it’s put as one of the greatest masterclasses in boxing history. Despite that fact the fight was incredibly close I had it 8-4 for Barrera, you could say 9-3, or 7-5. Barrera literally won just over half the fight. If Hamed was to score a knockdown the fight would’ve been a Majority Draw.
