Marco - Masterclass from you with roli instruments would be hands down the best thing ever. I don't know if this is everyone's opinion, but for me It's been a big struggle getting a hang of the instrument and getting the best out of it. At times I am confused if it's either a faulty machine (at times its true tbh) or if I am not doing it right! When I hear you play I am in love with the instrument and the magic you bring in. I really wanted to buy another block to make it bigger, and I am someone who doesn't shy away from spending on such wonderful instrument but since the initial stuggle was real, my songmaker kit is right now sitting in a corner making new friends with cobwebs and dust. Now I wanna go back and try what you advised. Really appreciate your thought of putting out a masterclass. Eager and excited! Thanks for all that you do ❤️

I was kinda hating on the Equator2 when it first came out, but after stumbling upon this, I think you may have just sold me on it... The demos I saw before were focusing on the more electronic styles of sounds, but all of my other synths can still do those better. I'm focusing more on meditative music at the moment, and some of these patches actually do seem to offer something a bit different, and incredibly useful. Great work.

Excellent choice Marco! And it's very useful to see your hand movements when playing, as the standard piano style of playing doesn't really translate well on a Seaboard Rise. More expression means more nimble fingers :) Great to hear you're a massive Hammond fan - same here: Hammond B3 with Leslie, actually, on which my Rise25 looks completely lost :)

I really like the Harmon mute sound and Additive Mantra. I think Marco is a great player... the other sounds I don't really get feeling for... I guess it's all subjective. I used the Equator 2 on a session at the weekend... had prepared some cello sounds and the like... in the end we replaced them with cellos from an old NI library that costs less than $50 atm and I've since found even better examples from 2011. The Equator just didn't quite have the presence but I think its still ok in it's own right.... The presets on the whole didn't do much for me but seems I'm in the minority as other people love them. I think the main strength of the Equator 2 will be in making your own sounds... the grain stuff sounds interesting as you can import your own samples. If Reason supported MPE I would be using Grain all the time with it..

@adamghering2 жыл бұрын
@@VestigeOfFate I am not pleased, There are no options, the version is out of my price range I was interested in block, songmaker, or rise 25 which they currently dont offer. so you can either be rich and want something that doesnt fit on my desktop or go without at this point. I was really hopeful for this as a device I believe in the product but I feel they have disenfranchised a wide spectrum of their user base with this call. and with the company being on the edge of things My call is that they dont recoupe enough cash, the series 2 wont sell enough units with a 1400 dollar price point and ill either be waiting years for a smaller version or ....they wont sell enough usits to proceed with any variations and Ill just have to live without it until some other company fills the void

@marco what's your best advice for learning the seaboard? Beginner tips and exercises ?
@MarcoParisiOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Ciao Tim! Best advice - in my experience - is to approach the Seaboard like a completely new instrument. Start easy, just a few notes at the time (literally a single note per hand, then slowly increase). With those notes, try to deeply explore every dimension. Slide up, down, left and right; increase and decrease the pressure per note and while you do it - most importantly - give your complete focus to the sound that every finger is creating. On the piano, once we've played a note/chord there's not much we can do. On the Seaboard, on the opposite, we are always and constantly in control. This could make things more difficult at the beginning but then opens a new magical world later, where you would find REALLY difficult to go back to a regular keyboard. Simply, don't rush. Take your time to get comfortable and then, once you're there, you can try scales or whatever exercise you do on the piano to improve your skills and get more precise. Also, I'm considering doing online masterclasses in the near future that you may enjoy. Hope that was helpful!
@Equinoxalpha6474 жыл бұрын
@@MarcoParisiOfficial Thank you for this awesome advice, the satisfaction of playing a real instrument was what attracted me to the seaboard.
