@Alan Harper We admire the achievements we make and want to make. And also not that much of a big deal? I'dd like to see you on the table with all the other engineers and see how much of a struggle it was to build this aircraft. Maybe you could have saved airbus a couple of billions since it isn't a "big deal". What you are saying is not technically wrong, you do make a fair point somehow. But lay low with the armchair expertise because you sound off like an ignorant jackass. We have to save this dying planet first before jumping further in the world AI, bio-physics and -mechanics.

@SamuelwrightA350 I flew on the Dreamliner back in May for the 1st time while it was comfortable I have to say the engines were a bit noisy. I haven’t been on the A380 just yet but I’m hoping to see what flying on that plane is like vs the 787
@brizzle39032 жыл бұрын
@SamuelwrightA350 I’ll keep that in mind! The Dreamliner flying wise was super comfortable I was in economy so I can only imagine what business/first class were like, it was through American Airlines even though I was in economy class seats the flight attendants took really good care of us My favorite feature on the Dreamliner was the button to darken the windows that came in handy since I had the window seat

there are 3 types of A380-800’s the A380-861, A380-841 and A380-842 the 842 and 841 aircrafts use both Rolls Royce trent 900’s the 861 uses the Engine alliances (GE and PRATT AND WHITNEY). so in summary the second digit stands for the engine company of any airbus. for example 841, 4=rolls royce, 861 | 6=engine alliances. same with any other airbus. 0=GE 2=Pratt and Whitney. and there’s a bunch of other numbers that represents different engine companies. and it’s the same thing with the 321, 330, 340, 350 etc
@pramodjoseph16576 жыл бұрын
Ryan Ryan but for A380, Engine alliance and rolls royce are the only engine suppliers . Rolls royce was the official engine partner for A380 program. The first A380 delivered to Singapore Airlines was powered by Trent. Engine alliance came second in to market as basically engine alliance was formed by GE& Pratt & Whitney to make engines for Boeing 747 ( Boeing had plans in 1998 to extend / modify 747 fleet) since it was not feasible, Boeing dropped the plan . Engine alliance made some modifications in the newly designed developed engine to suit A380 requirements ( basically a change in trust and power ratios) and transformed it as gp7200 series of engines

Probably not. The fan is much larger than the (more vulnerable) core section and tends to throw FOD to the outside. Unless it's something heavy enough to damage the fan blades - and a piece of plastic like this obviously isn't - it'll likely pass through harmlessly.
