This song is especially special to a lot of world and iceborne players specifically because it was used at the final developer talk for the game, in a collage of clips showcasing ALL of the memories and reveals we got over the years this game was released. And at the peak they swapped it to the other celebration theme, The Guiding Sapphire Star, and started showing off screenshots with the community during events. If I’m remembering correctly, this plays in-game during the fight with the final monster the devs released: Arch-Tempered Velkhana. Edit: I have been fooled, this wasn’t for AT Velkhana, but for other event quests. My b. The other stuff holds true though.

It does not play in-game actually.

AT Velkhana has its own theme different from normal Velkhana. Also, it does play in-game. Specifically, it's the theme for the arena quest "Power and Technique" where you fight Stygian Zinogre and Ruiner Nergigante. Since it's an arena quest it goes under the radar for a lot of people.

I guess you could consider this song the ‘battle version’ of Iceborne’s main theme Succession of Light. It’s kind of a shame that it’s never used in-game. Hearing this track takes me back to when Zinogre trailer released for Iceborne. Stars at Our Backs also had a ‘battle version’ titled Pride of a Nameless Hunter. That one was also primarily used in trailers and only appeared in game in what was essentially an April fools quest. You should listen to that one too! I love Pride of a Nameless Hunter.

I'm really glad they've started making more arrangements like this one and Pride of a Nameless Hunter, with it starting actually not too long ago with MonHun Generations Ultimate's(MHXX) variation on Proof of a Hero back in 2016(or 2018 for the western folks). It really is a celebratory song more than anything but fills you with this sense of vigor and enthusiasm to chase the thrill of the hunt. I am certain that these kind of songs will be in every main line game going forward because man they've got us hooked.

This is something I can never help but do whenever I hear a track that I particularly like, but I can totally imagine a full scenario going along with this, especially with Fatalis being the final challenge for MHW: Iceborne. Fatalis is on the verge of destroying the entire area, but a full team of 16 hunters, enough for every weapon type to be used, stand defiant against potentially the most destructive creature ever known. The Field Team Leader with his Greatsword, the A-Lister (Aiden) with his Sword and Shield, even the Huntsman with his Longsword admitting that while he is too old for this, he still has enough left in his bones for one final hunt. Hunters from all fleets as opposed to just the Fifth all take part just to be certain that Fatalis is defeated. Dual Blades, Longsword, and Bow focus on fast movements to keep Fatalis' attention, Greatsword and Hammer landing massive hits while Fatalis is distracted or launching others like the Insect Glaive skyward so they can land aerial blows, Lance and Gunlance acting as shields against Fatalis' fire while Charge Blade and Switch Axe build/launch their discharges, Hunting Horn and S&S focusing on support for the rest of the team while bowguns provide covering fire from the sides, perhaps Heavy Bowgun even landing a well-placed Wyvernsnipe in Fatalis' mouth as it's charging it's massive flame attack to explode before it can fire, Light Bowgun placing WyvernBlast mines below it so Fatalis falls on top of them after the Wyvernsnipe knocks it out of the sky. Just a massive never-before seen team of hunters playing off of their own as well as each other's strengths to bring down Fatalis. It just feels perfect to me

This song is just amazing, just as you said a medley of all past songs to bring back those moments from your past hunts against these grand monsters. It's funny as I introduced a bunch of my friends to monster hunter world (along with Iceborne) and there are moments in the middle of hunts still where we just jam out to the music or we adore how good the food looks (seriously why does it look so good). I whole heartly believe monster hunter ost's from all the games have this power to just pick you up, like you're struggling in a hunt and you hear the amazing orchestral sound of the monster's theme and you just pick yourself up and throw down and finally overcome that monster. Again this song perfectly encapsulates that idea from the entire game and gives you that "We did it" feeling, that overcoming adversity feeling and its truly amazing

Velkhana is Beautifull. And i really love the way she behaves. During the build up she comes across as this Apex Elder Dragon of the frost region that attacks anything coming too close to her but if you find her again later in explorations after beating her story fight, youll notice some things: when not provoked or attacked, shes completely peacefull. I literally waited til she sat down and just looked around, wearing my full Velkhana armor set with a Velkhana Longsword, i went towards her. A few feet in front if her i stood and waited to see what would happen, she noticed my hunter yes, but she just stared and kept sitting down. Even when i walked around her she followed me with her head when i was in her view range but just kept looking at me while sitting down. So i positioned my hunter in front of her, facing her and did that weapon pose with the longsword where you lay down the longsword on the ground in front of your hunter and he does a full bow down and then praises it. But because of my camera angle it looked like i was on the floor, bowing down in front of the sitting velkhana and worshipping her while she looked down on me. And in a sense its what i did, it was thanks to a hammer made of her materials i beat Shara Ishivalda , Safi Jiivah and Ruiner Nergigante so it was my way of paying respect. After ending the pose i walked back to the nearest camp after watching her stand up and fly back to her nest. Since then ive not hunted velkhana unless its the story mission as an sos Flare.

Fatalis in Iceborne got the original version of Proof of a Hero for his final phase music, since he's from the first generation of Monster Hunter. Interestingly, Iceborne didn't get its own dedicated version of Proof of a Hero. Base Game of World had it's own, but Iceborne didn't actually use the song almost at all, outside of a cutscene, a motif in Safi-Jiiva's final phase theme, and the reused version with Fatalis. Instead, we got this absolute banger, that unfortunately didn't get used in game outside of an obscure arena quest. For this reason, if Capcom does pull the whole musical callback thing in the final phase of the final monster in a future game, and that monster happens to be Safi from Iceborne, I really hope that they whip out this song again. The hype level of hearing it in that hypothetical hunt would be through the roof.

The chanting and percussion the mount version adds makes this truely I would say the successor to proof of a hero. In 1 word, the difference between World and Rise is "Epic", that is why I love MH World. The fast phase of Rise don't melt well with this term, because Rise is adrenaline and weeaboo style all the time.
