Let me be clear. This is the last and only time I will be talking about this whole thing. It has been blown completely out of proportion. I cannot help you if you choose to NOT watch this video. I will reiterate that the Wuwa community has been just as crap as the GI/hoyo community on several occasions. This thumbnail situation is NOT why I left X - I left the platform because it sucks and this was one of like 8 different situations that made me confirm and realize that it was time to leave. I recognize that it is impossible for people to not speak badly about me at this size and i guess visibility on the channel. If you're still angry or agitated all I can say is consider that a game doesn't define you or your emotions and you owe it to yourself to take time to separate yourself from the creators that cause you to feel badly - if that includes me, I applaud and encourage you to do so. This has been 8 months coming and while I'm sorry it came to a head its about time we discuss it. I wish you the best!

Different communities have members and cliques that are toxic in varying degrees and ways. At the same time, there's positivity these communities as well; you just have to know where to look. If you're a frog living in a well for too long, you'll eventually think that it is the entire world. Content creators will sometimes have negativity finding their way to them whether it was warranted or intentional. In my opinion, this was bound to happen sooner or later and it will eventually boil over when the same people don't get a reaction out of whoever they try and provoke and find the next pointless thing to be angry about.
@darkdude1996ify10 күн бұрын
Always remember that, especially on the internet, a lot of people are the worst version of themselves because there is no repercussions for acting that way. They lash out in anger because of some random reason that doesn't actually matter to anyone, not even to themselves, just because of a temporary emotion that usually fades as quickly as it came. Also remember, not everyone always voices or makes clear their satisfaction and appreciation, but if people are dissatisfied, they'll almost always voice it. If there is 10 people angry at you and 10 people praise you, rather than 10:10, the ratio is usually closer to 11:100.

The worst thing to happen to gacha games - or gaming as a whole - is this weird tribalism and the relentless competition among communities over which game is better or worse. The constant cycle of hate and toxicity whenever someone dares to express an opinion, whether positive or negative, it's exhausting. What happened to simply enjoying games for what they are, respecting differing opinions, and moving on if you disagree? Marco, your channel has never been about one game or the other. It's always been about celebrating music, about how it resonates with us, the emotions, and the stories it tells. You've brought attention to video game music in a way that's opened countless eyes to it's depth, significance, and emotional power. You've shown how rewarding it is to listen with intention and how much value music brings to the gaming experience. Even in this very comment section, people are missing the point. This constant need to pit communities against each other is exactly what led to this video. I wish more people would take a moment to reflect before jumping in with harsh words - it accomplishes nothing. Never let these voices of negativity discourage or distract you. You can never be completely neutral or objective when discussing something as deeply personal as art. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with comparing games, forming opinions, or having preferences, especially when presented thoughtfully and constructively, as you always do. Stay awesome, and keep doing what you do best!

I understand how you feel, even in my own social media I purposely not talk about certain gacha games from certain dev/publisher because I knew that would trigger people in my social media and i just don't want to deal with the drama. I know some small cc's that are on the same circumstance, they are afraid to mention the truth or their mind because of such backlash could destroy their career. but you stood tall, Marco. Gacha game originally an Adult game, where you have a Job and play a lil bit when you have free time to entertain after stressful (or maybe bored hours) of works, sometimes you spend money to get the thing you like. I don't think we can ever separate ourselves from those children because the games themselves are usually rated as 12+ or 16+ and that will always be the case because companies want the kids and teens to spend money on their game. The only way is to ignore those people, like how you ignore a crying child on a busy bus.

Very little discussion about the game itself. Its one of the main reasons I stopped playing WuWa. Too much toxic positivity. Hey Marco, I almost never comment on any platform, and I know I'm late to the table here (I doubt you'll see this), but I just wanted to extend my encouragement and support, and say that I agree with everything you said here. I know you don't need my input to keep doing what you're doing, and that's one of the many things that make you great, but I wanted to put in my two cents as someone who has some overlap with you. For context, this is from a college student who grew up loving music, loving video games, and then loving music even more. I'm a classical pianist and a music theory nerd and that's where most of my knowledge lies, so it's awesome to be able to hear from you the interpretational side of music (to cover what theory misses), and the vocal side of music (to cover what piano misses). I'm biased and say that voice and piano are the best instruments (in that order). I had no idea all of this was going on, and I'm very sorry to hear that the toxic sides of these communities jumped on you, and I'm proud of you for calling them out and sticking with your guns. I play both Genshin and Wuthering and love both games a lot (for overlapping and differing reasons), and I'm super glad to see you find things that you love, whatever it may be. I'll admit that I've fallen into the comparison trap myself - not in a toxic way, but in a way that makes me forget that games can just be evaluated individually. But either way I'm saddened that people get all up in arms over preferences and personal analysis, and I'm sorry that you've had to bear the brunt of so much of it. I actually found you through Genshin, but stayed for the music and for the Marco. I love the type of community you foster here and I'm glad you're fighting to keep it that way. Also, as a fellow very sensitive dude who has struggled to own that, it's great to see you be open about that and firm about that. I stayed and am staying with this channel because you're authentic and you're all about simply appreciating music and its power, and I'm glad to hear it affirmed that you're doing it for that reason too. As long as you're you, the people who stick with you will be the people you want to be around anyway. Keep doing whatever makes you happy and is YOU. Those are my two cents. Thanks for reading, whoever made it. And thanks for braving my repetitiveness and commas. Don't forget to listen to your heart and take care of yourselves, everyone. - some random young man

@@LyaHanz Not shocking. Most people that move to wuwa are just disgruntled ex-genshin players. Like I'm sure there are people that say things about Marco in other communities as well but he just ignores them. It just so happens that the hoyo/wuwa community is extremely large enough to make a dent even if those annoying individuals are a vocal minority. Man I hope you read this, I no joke JUST found your channel like a day or two ago and was watching all your Genshin reactions and loved seeing your passion and insight into the games music, I noticed that Genshin reactions were few and farther between recently, but I figured it was because you were spreading out. I hope you continue your Genshin reactions and just know that me and I'm sure many others appreciate your contribution to the community and commitment to sincerity.

I'm so glad I found your channel. You exhibit everything I look for in a creator. Honesty, commitment, a passion for your work and transparency. It's a shame that there are so many people incapable of just being kind and moving on. I can only hope that they give up with time and feel so bad that you have to endure that. Those people diminish my love for the games just knowing I will get compared to them and their need for attention. Best wishes

Yeah this has been a problem for a while now for the big Gacha game communities as of late. (More so Genshin and HSR). You did nothing wrong Marco, this just normal for these vocal minority part of the community to just go hunting for anyone who even makes the small negative remark against there games. It shouldn't be normal, but it has been. You are a good man and hoping for the best for you in the future.

I dont mean to start a war here, i just dont like this targetting of Hoyo communities all the time (implied with you saying "more so genshin and hsr"). As a player of e.g. GI, Wuwa, AG, i have to say i find all games to have their own charms and communities to be equally shit. But i have to say i literally never see any wuwa content be done without a direct slam against hoyo, theres always some comments that they throw to spite genshin etc. So i can understand this zealous defending (though not even remotely justified). This is all to say both communities online presence feeds off of attacking each other and its not gonna go away any time soon.

I’m a Genshin fan, it’s my favorite game, and it has some of my favorite music in gaming. The “fans” that say and do this stuff to you are idiots, getting serious and riled up over something so insignificant. Ever since your La Signora video I’ve been interested in all of your content, and I’ve actually learned a lot and gained more interest towards music because of you. So thank you Marco, and keep doing what you’re doing 👍

I recently lost my mum, too, and without going too deep into what happened for me, you're completely right in how it changes you. I've had to relearn a lot about self care, how I process my own grief, and how to grow. It's a lot about learning to tackle the hard stuff, but it doesn't stop the feeling of being vulnerable, if ever. You should never apologise for being a sensitive person, because I am too - and I think it says a lot about you that this has affected you so much. I'm an Arknights fan who genuinely loves your content (even outside of the AK vids- I can't believe you covered the Legend of Spyro at one point too) but even I've had to cut myself away from the fandoms of games I'm so thorougly invested in because of toxiticity. I hope your video gets across the way you just want to embrace music and the way it's made to make you feel, because I think a lot of these people have a lot to learn too. (Sorry if this comment isn't super well-worded, I don't know how to word my thoughts very well.)

You're great, man. Found you from FromSoft around the Elden Ring release, which was about the same time one of my friends was trying to get me to play Genshin. I totally get what you mean when you talk about then negative stigma around Gacha as a whole, because I was one of those who hated them without ever playing them (Now I play them and still hate them lmao). Point is I found your Signora video, and cover (fucking amazing btw), and it convinced me to give it a go cause I'm a music nerd as well and I thought the osts were fire. Year and a half later I still occasionally play Genshin and sometimes Wuwa, so there's that. The sheer amount of drama I've seen in this whole Hoyo/Gacha sphere in the just over a year I've been in it is honestly astounding to me, so I could only assume what it's been like for people like you who have been in it much longer. It's nice to have a channel that both shares my interests and sometimes covers these gacha games without every video being controversy related. My favourite thing you said was literally just: 'This is a nothing'. Because you're right. A 1280x720 thumbnail on KZbin is nothing. If people are taking something so inconsequential as something so deeply personal, that's on them. Looking forward to more of your content, Marco.

I'm really glad you decided to talk about this because it's been really bothering me how toxic and extreme the Gacha community (and also a big part of society in general) has become lately. So many people just see black and white and just jump on the first opportunity to stir hate and make themselves feel superior. And I've got to be honest, it was also kinda affecting my enjoyment of some of those games in the past. It just makes you feel bad when you're genuinely enjoying something and then people harass you for it and hate on it nonstop, just because they religiously try to make their own game seem like the right one to play (and I've noticed this in every single game's community btw.) What many people fail to realize is that you're not automatically taking a side by playing and liking a specific game, in the end it all comes down to personal preference. And I don't know about others but for me, there is always one game that I enjoy more than the others for a certain period of time, but it always changes and it doesn't mean that I hate or can't still like the others. Now, Genshin has and always will have a special place in my heart. It's been my first and most played gacha, I have really grown attached to its world, lore, characters and feel over the time. But I'm not blind, I'm aware about its flaws and shortcomings. While I may haven't enjoyed Natlan as much as other regions and I am slightly concerned for its direction going forward, I still appreciate what is has given me and still does. As to WuWa, I played on release and had a great time for a few weeks (admittedly partly due to my insane luck in the gacha) but even so I couldn't really immerse myself or fall in love with the world and its characters like in Genshin (which in no way means that its bad or worse than others). Its probably just because I personally like fantasy more than Sci-Fi/Modern settings. Still, WuWa kept improving after each new version and I've got to be honest, 2.0 and Rinascita really knocked it out of the park for me. It's absolutely amazing! From the italian theme - to the story and its incredible cinematography - to the awesome new world, music and characters, I think I'm truly in love with it now. It has successfully gone from just being a better and prettier Genshin to being its own game now and I think this is a massive win for us all! Anyways, I just hope people can appreciate the game they choose to play for what it is without feeling the need to validate their decision by looking down and spreading hate about other games, because in the end videogame are supposed to be fun and give us a little temporary escape from the problems of the real world. Much love to you Marco, I hope that you continue to listen and share your thoughts on the music from those games in the future! Maybe it can be like in the beginning where you just appreciate the music without any context or outside bias and bring to us closer the magic of music 🎶 🪄❤

Hey Marco, heard about the nonsense going on on twitter, and just wanted to say i hope you are alright, twitter is full of people who attach their self worth to their interests. There are many immature people who are unable to separate works of fiction from their real personal lives, and as an extension, other people. Hope you don't take any of it to heart, and understand this is very much NOT a you problem. Keep making banger thumbnails and content.

ZZZ was my first gotcha game (tempted to try wuthering waves as I've heard good things about it). I've always skipped over them because of their aggressive monetisation and fantast themes that have never really appealed to me, but the quality of the animations and the interesting lore drew me into ZZZ, plus the fact I really found out about it right before the launch, so I don't feel there's a tonne of catching up to do lol. Overall my experience has been really good. I should start off by saying i've had great fun with the game without spending more than a normal game would cost to purchase, and overall the part of the community I've interacted with have been very fun and positive, but two things really took my back with the game and community. How aggressive the monetisation is, and how toxic the community can be over such minor things. Now I'm no stranger to both, I play War Thunder and Star Citizen which are both known for extreme monetisation and toxicity surrounding the community, but they're both dwarfed by the Gotcha genre. People are spending thousands on characters (which may be causing a lot of the issue), and people are being attacked for asking simple things like how to improve, or talking about characters. Hell, recently there's been a storm on twitter because they showed a new character hanging out with the male protagonist which is apparently a big no no in gotcha games. It's just on another level compared to any other game I've played and it's a shame really as it leaves a sour taste in the mouth. I'm sorry this has happened, as you've always seemed a really standup guy. I hope these people realise that shit like this only harms the product they love.

Yeah, I actually think that WuWa needed this update in order to stand on its own 2 feet. Because now I can really appreciate this game for its own merits… rather than just being a Genshin copy. I also love Genshin… but it’s because it gives me the same feelings I would get when I was a kid playing Spyro and donkey Kong 64. I also did love that some content creators would focus a lot on the lore which has always been my favorite type of content in KZbin for all of the Franchises I follow. That being said, you’ve always focused your content around the music of video games. I was suspecting that you would love the 2.0 WuWa update given how much that area of the game has improved. I really do like your perspective on the music video game music… specially from some of your Genshin, Sonic and Pokemon videos. Keep up the good work and have fun enjoying the games you love playing. 😊

Sorry you went through that, and honestly, getting off social media is almost always for the best imo. There are loud vocal minorities in the gacha space who have gotten up in arms over the recent drama baiting in social media and from other CC, and sadly, you may have gotten dragged into it. I enjoy your content for you, and i got into this channel from your hi3 music reactions, but i am not going to get up in arms because you cover it less or prefer other games.
@crazykim9 күн бұрын
I really like WuWa, but during it's launch and for months afterward the community just kept being the single most inflammatory gaming community, or heck maybe even group of people at all I've ever seen by a wide margin, and I realized why.. (More inflammatory stuff that is both me venting frustrations and observations ahead, proceed at your own risk. This goes for everyone.) It's because a disproportionate amount of it's vocal "fans" were comprised of the absolute worst people the Hoyo communities have to offer, migrating en masse to the "Genshin killer". People upset with Hoyo (valid), burnt out by Hoyo(valid), upset with the community for [insert any of the many stupid Hoyo community things] (valid), engaging in the gacha drama channels fueled by just the most awful content creators (not valid (and i dont mean Marco ofc)), perpetuating all the things they say the dislike about Hoyo fans and excusing everything Kuro does that they hate Hoyo for doing (_not valid_). Honestly I'd have thought the community would have become better by now, but just a couple of days ago while I was looking for some information about some critiques people have had about 3.0 in HSR I accidentally happened into one of those content creators videos and by god the comment section was something else, most of it nonsense and whining, with a few sprinkles of some legit criticism, and then you open reply's and notice that these people realized they weren't being dumb enough and start spewing more nonsense. Since then I've gotten a lot of recommendations from that channel and it's all just rage baiting and hating on Hoyo under the guise of being critical. And I just noticed there's literally a video about this video that is more rage baiting from that channel in my recommendations while writing this lol. Algorithms are a joke. The most egregious things for me with this is that I am adamantly critical of Hoyo, I went about the this whole thing early speaking of WuWa and Genshin as equals to be diplomatic and unbiased, but there can only be Tribalism. To the extreme Hoyo fans I'm a hater, a black knight, to WuWa fans I'm a Hoyo shill. I guess the problem with trying to stay rational and close to the fence is that for people who's traveled far far away from it, it looks like I'm standing on the other side. Anyway that's my rant I decide to stop this here because I can continue for like a whole essay and I just realized I want to do other things.
