Hahaha love your humor mate, I'm always here watching your videos. I particularly loved the explosion part for some reason + the blackout + the crickets in the background hahaha I'm still using my Rigol MSO for logic analyser functions, its basic but kinda does the job. First time I saw your R&S scope I was kinda jealous I have to admit haha I was like "WTFFFFFF $$$$$$" hahaha I can fee your sadness returning it...
@reps6 жыл бұрын
"WTFFFFFF $$$$$$" is probably the normal reaction, but I bet you can do 99% of everything with a Rigol MSO too

I have to agree with the vid and comments that R&S equipment is top notch. I use R&S almost exclusively in my lab. I haven't found any piece of theirs that doesn't work as expected. I have had many pieces of Agilent/Keysight stuff that is junk in comparison. I purchased two inexpensive function generators and one display backlight didn't work and one knob didn't work directly from the factory. I have also used the E444x series spectrum analyzers and they are horribly inaccurate and drift badly untill they warm up for a few hours. Every R&S spectrum analyzer I have used is stable and accurate even after a cold start. There stuff is more expensive than Keysight and generally have a slightly odd UI, but their performance is phenomenal. I have two RTO series scopes and they have the best performance of any scope I have ever used.

Thanks for the summary (& laughs). I just ordered my RTB2K-COM4 & carry case, instead of the Rigol MSO4034 I had planned to get. The local R&S sales rep brought one out to my office for a trial, but it was pretty quick so good to hear from you and others the good & bad. While I love the large display, I am not sure I like the touchscreen, so I think I'm going to try it with a wireless mouse. I just wish I could have justified the cost for a RTM3000 and get the extra decodes and math functions (and speed).

I have a HMO3522, for 7 years my daily use scope. I still like it but I like the touchscreens from the new models. I also bought the LA but without the protocol decoders. Are they still so stupid expensive ? (I bought a zero-plus, comes with over 120 free protocols) I now use the HMO's LA to check things like the order in which relais switch in a secutest. Funny review, i liked it.

Could I ask what is potentially a pretty dumb question, but what would the advantages of something like this over USB logic analyzers be? Real-time trigger, display and update. The USB ones just do a single capture on a trigger condition. Then again, they can store almost indefinitely. Each has their own purpose.
@superdau6 жыл бұрын
If you are capturing simple UART, not much. But if you need to trigger on an analog voltage for example that's somewhere else in the circuit and want to capture some digital data around that that trigger and see the analog waveform, you will need something like this scope.

@reps6 жыл бұрын
Did it work before? Did a firmware update start the problem? You could try to find a serial port on the mainboard and see what the bootloader has to say for himself ...
@Arek_R.6 жыл бұрын
Well I got it from ebay from seller that handles crap from some store. This scope was returned by customer as faulty. Excellent condition would suggest that it was dead on arrival. First thing I did - turned it on, effect: few seconds nothing >> dsiplay turns on and displays "welcome" picture for like 10 seconds >> here it should enter the UI but instead it turns black for few seconds and then again picture and repeats over and over Inside it looks completly fine, checked all power rails and they're fine, nothing overheating, but also main processors are warm after some time, so they're doing something. As far as I can tell, the hardware is completly fine, but for some reason it doesn't enter the UI. It has XC6SLX9 FPGA processor for main work and some samsung cmos for handling the display, which clearly does it's job. I also tried pressing these processors during turning on, to see if there are some bad connections as these are BGA packages, and also heating them up to like 70*C, it changes nothing. Then I saw on EEVblog2 vid about siglent generator which just failed like that, extremly similar problem, in second video he fixed it jsut by uploading new firmware with uSD. vids: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXyYn5V5lMl1jc0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qn6Vm2ywqqeciLM Where I should look for the serial port?
