Yes, whatever divine is in the universe sent that child. And it doesn't matter what your personal belief in that is, God or not. It's 2023, and it's time to move on from that and allow people the freedom of personal ideology that is not harmful to others. Even God gives us "Free Will".

Oh dear, I grew up in Tondo and I still live there but man, I must say that you've got balls of steel for setting foot in that place. Even as a local, there are places that we avoid because you can really get in big trouble. You're extremely lucky to be able to go in there and get out unscathed. The warning given to you by the tricycle driver was real. A lot of people get mugged in that area, even those riding motorbikes fall victim to snatchers and hold uppers.

Eto ang mga problema ng pinas kaya konti lang ang mga foreign tourists at hindi sila nagtatagal sa ating bansa: 1. Wala tayong modernong infrastructure. 2. Wala tayong modernong transportation 3. Mahina or walang internet 4. Nawawalan ng kuryente (brownout) 5. Mahina or nawawalan or walang tubig 6. Nakawan at kikilan sa NAIA airport 7. Expensive accomodations 8. Illegal squatters, street dwellers and beggars everywhere, particularly children asking money from foreigners. Tapos sasabihin natin "Its more fun in the Phlippines" ??? Nakakahiya ! Tourism will boost our local economy kasi foreigners spend money in our country which helps our local business to earn more. The local and national government MUST do something to solve/fix these problems.

While Tondo is known as a dangerous place in the Philippines, this video is far from what I expected after having just watched a vlog on Skid Row in LA. It’s interesting to see that you were greeted by smiling faces, children fist bumping you, mothers doing chores and running their livelihood. There’s a glimpse of hope in the midst of their poor living conditions. You see the silver lining as Catriona Gray said.

@@gelp7823 : Yes, it seems that way. I'm from Newfoundland, Canada myself, I live in our capital of St. John's; and even here we have a noticeable Filipino community. Though it seems like the Filipinos here, keep largely, to themselves. That's what I'm finding anyway. I was not going to watch this first, actually; as I'm a gay male and I have a Facebook account as well, and I've been trying to find a Asian boyfriend for the past few years now, and in the process got a lot of replies from guys from the Philippines. I tried to be friends with as many of them as I could, and eventually, they would open up and share their heart breaking stories, whatever it may be; surface differences but the same, underlying, problems. So it was painful to watch this anyway, to see how some people in some places, are forced to live, but then, when it dawned on me that any number of these guys who have contacted me through Facebook, could be living the very, same way themselves, I lost it altogether. It's one thing when you are looking at strangers you don't know, it's completely, different when it's people you've become friendly with, and know somewhat. I am so, so, sorry Darling, that your nation continues to have to face this sort of thing, and these types of places continue to exist, as I do not believe the Philippines is THAT, SUPER, poor so should be able to do better for its own than this. Would you not agree? That does not mean that the outside world can't do more to help, because likely, we can. If you wish to chat more, Sweetheart, I'm more than happy to do so. Much Love and Warmest Wishes from Canada. Be Well and Safe. Out. 🥰🤗🖐🏼😔

Happier? These kids live in dire poverty in a very dangerous neighborhood. Every second of the day they’re in survival mode. People think that kids growing up in places like this are walking around looking sad 24/7, and when they look “happy”, it’s because their lives aren’t that bad or are even better than kids in Western countries. It’s a bunch of garbage. Research the “poor but happy trope”.

I stayed in Tondo for 1 week when I was 11. As someone who grew up on the island of Palawan, I was fascinated by how bustling the place was. I was very apprehensive of everything moving around me but was also very perceptive of the humanity that surrounded me. Just like anywhere you go, there'd be bad actors but the beauty of the human spirit shines through. People are constantly moving but if you still yourself and observe, our lives are really just versions of one another.

I'm from Cebu and I seldom go to Manila. There was once when I took a taxi cab way back 2008 going to Divisoria, and we passed by the slums of Tondo. I was alarmed when the driver suddenly stretched his right arm to lock my door side and told me the zone where we are in is dangerous. I was silent out of shock. Anyways, you do have a big heart. You are very generous on the tricycle driver when normally it just cost a dollar or less if taking the whole vehicle by yourself. I'm glad someone is posting this as I can really see and feel what is like in the center of this innercity.

1st time to Philippines 🇵🇭 i stayed with my wife at her families house in Coral St. TONDO. We were there for 3 and a half months. 2nd time we stayed for 3months. It's not far from "HAPPY LAND TONDO" I enjoyed it there. Fantastic friendly people. Just walking around people that dident even know me would often invite to join them in a drink or something to eat. Going back there soon.

1st: The trike fare was kinda a rip off. You could have taken a cab for a cheaper price. 2nd. Always take care going to these areas, though usually Filipinos are nicer to foreign strangers plus doesn't hurt that you are a mountain of a man and tattooed. 3. Thank you for not just settling in BGC but showing what Manila truly is. There is beauty in its madness.

I gotta hand it to you, it takes a strong person to just walk around alone in a new place, especially Tondo! I used to go to school there.

The Philippines is a beautiful country and it is sad to see influencers showing the bad parts and exploiting people's misery for more views instead of showing how beautiful and incredible this country is. Filipinos are wonderful people! Let's show the good side :)

@@jeta1267 I never said otherwise. That's what I endorse. I just think there's need to sploit people's misery.

I think he’s highlighting the situations people live in and humanizing poorer people others may avoid or look down on. And the rest of the world, especially richer places, should know what this is like. Anyway, I see you’re just looking out for the locals, wanting to make sure they’re being treated well. I bet we can all agree on that 🙏

Great vids Marco, I lived in Manila for a while and of course there’s trouble like most places, but if you treat people with respect like you do, you get good vibes back ❤

You got humongous balls to roam around that place. Just be careful if every time you roam around a sketchy place, you may never know what kind of stuff you might’ve come upon. Welcome to my country. Enjoy your journey mate, keep safe always.

I love Tondo, yes it can seem dangerous and you could definitely have a "wrong place at the wrong time" moment, but for the most part it's fine. It was way worse back in the day but now I feel it still get's the reputation from that point when the gangs were active.

I remember my 3 months living in the Philippines, walking streets and meeting people. This brought back memories of halo halo, balut, adorable children, muddy feet, humidity, “aso” (dog in Tagalog), the pain of poverty, and friendly faces. God bless the Filipino people 🙏
