I didn't like Marcus when first introduced as I thought he was a little too comical but as the series went on he became one of my favorite characters and turned out to be not only comical but skilled and very selfless, his fight with Neroon and his dedication to Ivonova makes him a true Ranger.

I love the subtle look on Franklin’s face after #1 walks off the second time, he knows Marcus is about to start running his mouth... it’s funny, watching this show again I realize how much I liked Marcus as a kid and tried to emulate him as much as possible.

I am so so sorry for you. After 61 years and 3 failed marriages I found the love of my life. I wasn’t looking, had given up on love and had given up on women, I was fine just being by myself. He did get the literal shit beat out of him by Neroon and Lenir showed he'd had no problems ending Marcus. He also sucked balls at love and died a virgin. Generally he also seemed to have bad luck too. Even in this scene it's Franklin who scores the hot chick not him. Also kudos to the series for actually showing an interracial relationship which was pretty rare between a black guy and white woman back then. Best of all unlike today's bullshit "woke" culture they never made a big deal of it. It was just "normal". I think he was definitely larger than life and written to be a noble pure Arthurian knight. So yeah he was over exaggerated but still far from Mary Sue territory.
