I feel like the hardest part of being a “small channel” is the process of getting recognized. Like it might sound silly, but EVERYTHING matters from the sounds you use to the resolution and aspect ratio you render in. Just remember guys, it’s the little things that separates you from others. 🤙🏽

Awesome video as always, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. Otherwise, you are going to be far behind everyone else, and eventually quit. Even though I am not beginner anymore, I know how hard it could be (and if I didn't have used a lot of Famester, I would have quit a long time ago as well). It made everything much more easier and faster, especially getting over subs and views requirements to get monetized.

Dude I give you props I didn’t even know the “publish to subscriptions feed and notify subscribers “ button even existed but it makes perfect sense to organically drive new traffic to your page especially if you’re trying to pivot! I had a couple successful videos on a different topic then what my new videos are on and I feel the algorithm is definitely sidelining my new content due to my subscribers not choosing to watch the new content. @@cyberinsurgent9910 most of what he spoke about is commonly known, and the assumption is most KZbinrs "won't tell you", it's probably more of a, why should they? Like.. a music channel would have no need to tell its subs that, a blog channel wouldn't either. Even with all of these settings, (most I've already done) I myself only have 200 subs. You can do all these settings, and it's still only a chance the algorithm picks you up. Posting often helps the best, sharing to discord servers and subreddits have been more helpful. I watched this video thinking there was new info, but.. most is already known. These grow your channel YTers, are saying the same thing recycling what's been said for years.

Just FYI creative Commons license means that businesses get to use your content free as well. Licensing is a big part of the revenue stream for many creators. Definitely a big part of what I do. Not wise to release most content on a Creative Commons license.
@autolosss
@autolosss 4 ай бұрын
While true, the point of CC licenses is intended for creating works that allow freedom of usage by other people in general to remix or add further towards, not just businesses. That said yeah, I do think more clarification on that should've been done in this vid. It is also notable that CC licensed works have many varying terms as well before you can use them on your own vid -- such as ones preventing commercial use as well as ones requiring reusing the same license when you make your work.

exactly!!! This dude has a Napster mentality when it comes to using other people's video without paying them. Never fall for the 'exposure' lie in exchange for taking your work and them making money off it, while you get nothing but maybe 2 disinterested viewers. Not worth it.

It's also worth noting that you might have a license to use some copyrighted material but cannot share it in media with a creative commons license. I had to get a copyright permission for a copyrighted text I set to music. I am allowed to sell, record, etc. with that license. I am not allowed to put that recording or sheet music under a creative commons license.

I appreciate all of the information left in this video! Definitely going to be using these tips to better our channel. We make various content primarily fluctuating between "Challenge" type videos and "Song Covers." I understand that niches are important with channels, and our team is debating making separate channels for the more "Entertainment" based content and the "Music" based content. We are still growing on 1 channel, but we feel the "lack of" a specific niche may be detrimental to our channel in the algorithm. Just curious as to what your thoughts are! Thank you!

What I've found is that Product reviews and reveals make money. Period. And, music covers and entertainment that contains music, is problematic because if you CR it and then play it, you can get demonetized even though you own the rights. If you are female, and drum in educational practice to a CR song, you will have it taken down. If you are male, you might get it taken down, but not necessarily. If Mr. Mikey think its CR, it will be flagged even if you are female and got permission to use it by the record label if you speed it up or slowed it down or whatever they said we had to do. This is why Music is risky. Challenge videos can get people very much in a bad way. I don't recommend either actually. People have died doing those challenge vids. And People have been banned from YT or monetizing doing covers. Sorry! Oh yeah, avoid anything owned by Warner Brothers or Disney like the plague as they will sue! So will anything owned by Taylor Swift's record label. Usually, the top 5 record labels will give a cease and desist regardless. It's just Mr. Mikey that targets females more so than Males, but Males do get targetted too.

@hiiambarney4489 5 күн бұрын
Some randoms feedback: ggworldwide1 looks a bit like a commenter name, not a creator one. The Icon could use some more work. Judging by those 2 things alone my guess would be gaming content? Gaming content is hard to stand out in, make sure you have a personality, camera or at least avatar to identify your brand and make those clickable titles and even more importantly thumbnails. This seems like some unimportant psychology meta thing but trust me, that's it. A thumbnail with bright red and yellow colors somewhere in that, for example for a textbox or the infamous red circle... It will grab eyes. It just works. But yeah, for long term success you gotta deliver. Be real with you, take a week break and see what content you would personally watch if you were given this in your inbox. Lying to yourself won't help you here. If you have the slightest doubt about the videos being watch worthy, or worthy of your time, others will have that opinion *10, no matter how critical you think you are about yourself. And that means? Back to the drawing board! Mix it up, get some input from others (like I'm doing for you, however it could be anyone) and try to extract what issues they have with the videos exactly. It's very much a PR job, that's why most companies have opened up so much to decently large channels having no job experience for these positions anyways. It's directly related. 2 Month is not that hard of a time investment yet and the start will always be disheartening, especially when you see someone lucky hitting the algorithm on the first 5 videos ever or something like that but keep at it. There was a number floating around of about 36 Videos before KZbin really considers your channel worthy, unless that happened before naturally where people shared it themselves. I just now took a look at your channel and it seems like my assessement was pretty much right. You are a gaming channel, you don't have a facecam, no avatar, voiceover seems pretty well done judging from your introduction video but the music was too loud, the channel could really use a rebrand I am afraid personally. I could be wrong about it but I think if you rebranded yourself into something like GiGi or GeeGee or whatever, that would help you a lot, as it sounds much more like a singular, bondable content creator for your audience. In the gaming space particularly, people look for bonding experiences. (But this still applies to all other spaces. EVEN TUTORIALS, if you know Brackeys, you might think, what does he have over all these other Game Dev tutorial Channels, when his information isn't even all that particularly useful? It's the facecam. Clickable, memorable name and a presentable icon that is identifieable at icon size.) Try to discuss some topics from time to time. Even for masterclasses in growing channels (explosively) like PirateSoftware, pure gameplay doesn't do jack, apart from the outlier new game here and there. It is his takes, life lessons and what he has to share with persons what grew him so rapidly. After watching your channel intro, which is a very new youtuber channel thing to me personally, none of the big channels have or still have that on there, so IDK if it's hurtful or beneficial tbh., I can safely say, you should try it. Try making a video to discuss what you think about the current gaming space. Why it is bad that gacha, battlepasses and pre ordering exists and give your spin on the take. I can promise you it may open up so many avenues you haven't seen possible beforehand. Even if you just wanna do gameplay content and you discuss these topics in detail with your audience during gameplay, serialized videos never do well these days. It is much more clickable if you do single shot videos about these games, maybe challenge runs edited or something. The let's play Meta died when Minecraft emerged. If you learn to play an instrument, what is the first steps you do after you grasped the absolute basics? You play other people's songs. Don't reinvent the wheel for youtube either and don't tread mudded paths, you'll just get stuck. If you want to do this full time, like REALLY WANT it and live of this? Then you will have to do stuff that you won't like to do from time to time. I personally hate cutting videos but when I make my channel that will be something I will have to do for the near future. That's part of the work. Another small thing I've seen very often in beginner channels is asking people, most of the time very skittishly too, for what content they would like to see. Fk that. You make what you think is successful and you can do. You don't ask the fish where the best fishing spot is and you don't ask the Cattle for the way out of the herd. As rough as that sounds. I really hope you can make it with these tips and I do believe so, if you REALLY put them into action and best of luck to you!

Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🚀 *Optimizing Subscriptions Feed Visibility* - Uncheck "Publish to subscriptions feed and notify subscribers" for videos unrelated to your channel's main content. 01:10 🧒 *Setting "Made for Kids" Correctly* - Accurately designate if your video is made for kids (under 13) or not. - Incorrect settings can lead to limited options and potential fines. 02:19 📚 *Chapters and Key Moments* - Disable "Allow automatic chapters and key moments" to avoid AI-generated confusing or spoiler-filled chapters. - Manually adding chapters with timestamps in your video description is recommended. 03:46 🕵️ *Privacy and Featured Places* - Disable "Featured places" to prevent KZbin from revealing your location to viewers. - Consider turning off "Automatic concepts" for better clarity and control. 04:27 🌐 *Licensing and Distribution* - Change the default KZbin license to "Creative Commons attribution" for broader reuse permissions. - Embrace content reuse as potential free marketing. 05:09 📺 *Optimizing Channel Homepage* - Customize your channel homepage with featured sections to make it vibrant and engaging. - Remove the default shorts section if your channel is not primarily focused on KZbin shorts. 07:00 🛡️ *Feature Eligibility in KZbin Studio* - Complete feature eligibility verification steps in KZbin Studio for longer videos and custom thumbnails. - Select your correct country of residence to avoid tax-related issues. 08:13 🔗 *Subscriber Link Optimization* - Use a custom channel link with "?sub_confirmation=1" to encourage more subscribers strategically. Strategically place *the link on social media or video descriptions to boost subscriber count.* 09:20 🖼️ *Video Watermark* - Upload a video watermark with a subscribe call to action for the entire video. - Opt for "entire video" placement to enhance visibility, especially in full-screen mode. 11:00 🔍 *Channel Keywords* - Add relevant keywords in channel settings to improve searchability. - Enhance the likelihood of users finding your channel when actively looking for related content. 11:57 📝 *Description Optimization* - Craft a concise and engaging first line in your video description for better visibility on your channel homepage. - Utilize this space wisely for subscriber calls to action or viewer reassurance. 12:25 📅 *Upload Default Visibility* - Change the default visibility to "unlisted" as a safety precaution to avoid accidental premature video releases. - Prevent unintended public exposure of videos that were meant to go live at a later date. 12:54 🚫 *Blocked Words and Links* - Add blocked words and disable links in comments to prevent spammers and scammers. - Minimize negative viewer experiences and potential algorithmic impact. 14:04 🏷️ *Shorts Remixing and Video Category* - Allow shorts remixing for free marketing opportunities. - Manually select an accurate category to help the algorithm target the right audience. 14:47 📊 *Optimizing Video Descriptions for Topics* - Type the name of your game in the video description to help KZbin group videos and promote related content. - Facilitates better categorization of videos and enhances discoverability. 15:00 🕒 *Strategic Video Scheduling* - Analyze your audience's online activity in KZbin Studio's analytics section. - Schedule videos during peak viewer times to maximize reach and engagement. 16:09 🎬 *Utilizing End Screen for Viewer Engagement* - Add clickable links using the end screen feature to promote other videos or playlists. - Encourages viewers to watch multiple videos consecutively, boosting session time. 16:52 🔄 *Connecting KZbin Shorts to Full-Length Videos* - Utilize the "related video" setting when uploading KZbin shorts to link to full-length videos. - Enables viewers of shorts to seamlessly transition to longer, more in-depth content.
