Guys hating on us sending pop is like hating on Finland sending Rock/metal or the Netherlands sending EDM, it's what we like, it's what we do better than anyone and it's why music is one of our biggest national exports. Seeing how we always place high and how everyone seems to care about our nf I think we are doing something right

Sweden is sending songs to ESC which the Swedish population likes listening to. Others might find it generic or whatever, but this is what we love hearing on the radio, Spotify, etc. I actually find this performance a lot more unique than other acts we've sent the last couple of years. The staging is amazing, dancers on point and two charismatic good singers. Considering that M&M have been relevant in the Nordic countries for the last 10 years, it makes sense they won both the public and jury votes :)

I find it so odd when people describe 5th or 7th places (like Frans, Robin Bengtsson, John Lundvik, or Benjamin Ingrosso) as _flop_ entries. I don't even think 14th as Tusse and Robin Stjernberg is such flops as some people tend to pretend it is, of course it's not great, but it's in the top half. That Sweden has been doing as great as it has, even in the televote, in spite being the Eurovision fandom's punching bag for a decade, is quite remarkable. You have a lot of those in your comment sections. I feel like some people want Sweden to do bad, more than they want their own country to do well.

Eurovision has been missing a clear contender to win the jury vote and can still appeal to a televote, but now we have one. What jury is not going to respond positively to this? Cool, mainstream pop song, slick staging, the boys can sing, they can dance, they look cool, they have charisma, it's the whole package. Definitely a contender to win the jury vote and I'd say it will get a solid televote score as well. It's getting top marks in Norway, it's getting very high marks in Finland and Denmark too, and I think Iceland, Ireland and UK will respond well to this too. Is it a Eurovision winner, though? I don't know. It's an open race this year.

Cons: - The song is too similar to Salva Mea - Faithless in many sections. - The outro at 3:08 sounds like a copypaste of Daft Punk, Tron Legacy. - While lyrics are allowed to be repetitive for the hook and the sake of recognition, they should have had more lyrical variety. "[S]hes unforgettable" is said too many times and it makes the whole song staler and more bland. - The song is also overall to repetitive. However this is usually the case for 90% of Eurovision entries. - I think the background dancers look silly, especially the female ones, as they look cooler than they actually are, meaning they don't look authentic and a bit too young for the mature attitude. For instance, it looks goofy and unprofessional when they're just waving their bodies and arms around without too much choreography in certain sections. - The direct Matrix-like clothing on the dancers could have been more subtle, as they makes the song less original and also give more the impression that they where bought in a Halloween costume store. Pros: - The Matrix is one of my favorite movies, so I don't complain about it becoming "cool"again, rather the burnout from overusage. - Great staging. I don't care that people think it's too "staged". If every act in ESC felt like a music video, it would be a problem. On the other hand, if every song in Eurovision seemed less polished and had less serious staging, that would perpetuate the assumption many non Eurovision fans have that the show is lame. It doesen't nescessarily matter what these people say, but the spectrum of musical expression matters utmost. - Great choreography from M&M - Michael Jackson like clothing - Darker 90's techno vibes, very nice 👌🏼 Overall I'd give them 6 or 8 points Good luck from Norway!

Please list up «all» the songs in ESC that are not copycats of something else! And those songs that are different, are getting a lot of flack from many ESC fans for being screamy or boring.
@MrBoogieman6410 ай бұрын
I didn't disagree with your premise and didn't say "all". I'm not one of those that think these musical similarities are a deal breaker. However, they need to be recognized, because were it not, songs would get more praise than they really deserved and it disencourages originality. And your argument is prone to the saying "if everyone jumped off a bridge, would you do it?". The fact that a majority of Eurovision songs have a Eurovision like cliché to them, is not an entire excuse for sampling a lot or a tiny bit of plagiarism here and there. I also mean that I would give them my 6 or 8 points out of the 9 possible point placements. Not bad at all.

@@QueenGry sounds a bit disrespectful to the estonians that were part of making the song though and created the performance itself 😀

@@peixeess OK.. You're of course as entitled to voice your opinion as I am to roll my eyes over it. This ability to find something offensive in every bloody thing that's being said never stops to amaze me.. This is a light-hearted conversation about a bloody song contest, not the situation in the Middle east or a fatal decease, for crying out loud!

I am sorry i find the song being very forgettable, although the staging is incredible! I guess Sweden always sends such great songs I feel a bit disappointed this year, but wishing best of luck nonetheless!

Sweden forget it’s a song contest not a stage contest.

It's too perfect that there's no space for emotions. It didn't touch me at all. I wouldn't vote for this entry.
