I just found this and how great it was! The smile on Julia's face was the biggest ,brightest I have ever seen from her. It was absolutely wonderful and says it all. Marcus is amazing and soooo gracious. Everyone involved now has a memory they will never forget!

One of the main reasons that Marcus is on so many recordings is because he is a bassist first. Yes, he has ridiculous chops and is a virtuoso, but he supports and enhances the songs that he's playing on.

Thank you so much for posting this! Marcus is so humble and soft spoken about his experiences. His playing is legendary and his style is unmistakable but what stuck me the most on this video was you could feel the kindness and gentle spirit that is one of the most amazing musicians. Lots of life lessons in this video for me when I listened carefully. Inspired me to pick up the bass again.

I had the chance to meet Marcus Miller twice, before and after a concert, once at the Seine Musicale in Paris and once at the Blue Note in New York. How not to be surprised by the fact that this great artist with his worldwide fame and his talent can remain so accessible, attentive and coupled with great kindness? Certainly a great lesson to give to artists whose emerging success goes to their heads ! My choice fell on the Sire U5 short scale, an excellent choice for learning the bass when you are a complete beginner !

My uncle (sound engineer) presented me Marcus Miller's CD albums (along with other jazz-rock/funk/fusion music) when I was a kid. I listened it but didn't pay too much attention and forgot about him soon. When I started playing bass, I re-discovered Marcus. It was a great surprise for me, that he is still alive and active! Marcus is appeared to be very funny, kind and interesting person and a great musician with its own awesome style.

Marcus little stories from his life is entertaining, and the connection with the people in the room becomes so nice. The jamming with the Thomann crew was cool. It shows how Marcus can both give big scene conserts, and cosy little music bars where he's with the audience close around.

Thank you, Thomann, for putting this out there. Earlier this year I had the pleasure of attending a master class given by MM. I even had a chance to chat with him briefly the night before, a few minutes before lots of people knew that he had arrived at the venue. I told him I owned a 5-string M2 by Sire. He congratulated me and offered some advice about the guitar. MM is an absolute genius on the bass & one fine human being!

Awesome share, thanks Thomann. Met Marcus 2 years ago after a concert. Such a nice and humble human being, while he's definitely one of the all time greats. Audience could have been more interactive though. I mean, come on: "you know Jaco?" *dead silence*; "you know James Jamerson?" *dead silence* ... btw: Starstruck Julia made my day. She was so nervous, but blended in perfectly right away. :)
