Marcus' drummer, Poogie Bell, is the freaking man. I have a show coming up at the Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh on March 2nd and Poogie is our drummer for it. I saw him play in person for the first time back in September and his energy amazed me. And the dude just doesn't stop smiling.

we should all remember that unless we can do better and i bet 99.99999999999999999999% of us cannot......... we should not judge....... especially music as it brings universal joy to everyone who lays ears upon it

@rysterryn flea is a rock/punk rock bassist who happens to like funk. I watched an interview with him like a week ago where he said that he likes funk, but he wants to take something funky and turn it into a punk rock sound. And Marcus has his very own style that his fans are able to recognize right away. And I love it

@rysterryn I agree. Also for your information, there is a song by Victor Wooten, called Bass Tribute. You might wanna check it out and listen closely. Basically Vic lists all the best bassists in the world and gives a brief example of their style afterwards. Its great, you'll love it.

Gosh, that drummer is a beast. Mr. Miller isn't bad himself, but one thing I'll criticize is that solo he started at around 6:00. I think we've all seen better.

@EliYBY i have to agree, it was weird even before i saw your comment i was like 'holy shit! i think he actually made a mistake...' he redeemed himself with a really strong finish tho. gotta love the guy its like he realized he could do better and so really made it count at the end ! :)

@AlpineNInfinity ... easy folks ... it's music .. it not yours or mine ... its ours to enjoy or not. As for the musicians .. well mentioning flea in the same sentence with Marcus is ... lemme see, how can I put this so most of you will get it ... ummm ... lol ... kinda like remaining silent and being thought a fool vs. speaking up and removing all doubt. Don't get me wrong, Flea and his band RHCP are extremely talented and successful musician/performers. Enjoy who you will .. but keep it real

Not to be an ass butt most of the guys from RHCP were born in the 60's hence they came out in the 80's. No one copied anyone though, just a cover of a Stevie wonder song.

sounds like Red Hot Chili Peppers - Higher Ground, who copied who?? or is there no copy? oO
@crotalus26915 жыл бұрын
I'm going to disagree and say that marcus miller can play funk, and does play funk. In fact, I would say that higher ground has more of a funk basis than a jazz base
