I've watched and listened to Marcus for +40 years, and this is the first time I've seen him so loose and relaxed, working more like Prince in setting up the band, enjoying and creating small, impromptu changes and ideas... a true master and legend!

Where has this gem been hiding for the last 17 years? Previously, all we had were fragments - mostly poor quality - from the gig. For me the highlight was the group’s playing of Maputo. The succession of great horn solos from Keith, Patches, Candy and Roy is just bliss!

Wow!! Best stand-in band I have ever seen! Marcus is an all-time-hero. He is always "in the moment", a virtuoso, but plays BASS (not just uses the bass to play lead lines!). However, I had not appreciated what an amazing band-leader he is. He had an all-star (and diverse) band on stage; controlled everything stunningly and made the whole performance massive fun for all - on stage and off. I will watch this again (and again.....)

When good musicians flow in óne direction, music suddenly becomes music.. This is group-feel, inspiring all to do their best, and to support individual solo's. And the solo players never loose the common ground, that is offered to them. Perfect combination of real commune life and individual performances. They all play at best in this setting.. Even the keyboard player and the guitarist have a delicious feel for timing here.

quickly spoiled, like Martin Miller, waited a long time for him to appear on your stage. The expectations are in vain. But! Your team conquered my sense of rhythm and other historical strings. The combination of instruments and bass guitar is the highest skill, especially of the bass guitarist and the sound engineer. He gets a SPECIAL applause and an increase in pay for each concert session!
